LG 37" LCD TV Sound Fault

Hi, my 2 year old 37" LCD LG TV has developed an intermitent sound fault. The sound just goes off and the only way to get it back on is to power off the TV and leave it for varying lengths of time before powering it up again.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check the audio with a DVD player or cable box. Also try using component cables if using a RCA component cable or vice versa. Check that all of the cables are plugged into the back of the TV & MUTE button is not pressed. Do a hard reset by unplugging the power cord for more than 4 hours and power it again, then go into the on-screen-menu and make sure the sap is off and stereo in on. Also try audio from Phone and 3.5mm jacks (if equipped). If this all didn't resolves the issue then it is an Audio IC or bad speakers/speaker connection. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

    Hi,

I have checked all the connections (only one HDI Cable from TV to Sky Box) and done the hard reset (powered off over night) but the fault is still there. It works ok but the longer the tv is on the more likely the sound will just go off. Sometimes turning it off and leaving it for a while works for a while but it soon returns. Is it likely to be related to the tv heating up and a speaker connection/card going wrong.

    Regards

    Yan

If you have already checked everything else then you are right it can be either of these things: a bad HDMI Cable, an Audio IC and/or a bad A/V Board. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

You have intermitant problems which may be caused by contact resistance or circuit overheating. After it cooled down the tv starts again. Leave TV on standby at all times.

There is a constant buzzing sound coming from the back of my lg 37" lcd i returned the last one for the same fault and the replacement is the same any clues?

The sound is generated by the power source - it doesn't run smoothly because either it's defective (but 2 tv with the exact same defect one after the other is quite improbable) or you have a very bad mains power line, filled with interferences. Plug the tv thru a mains filter then check the voltage - if it's at 120 volts as it should and the sound is still there then return this tv also - you are really one of the unluckiest men alive.

Crackling from set volume button makes no

Sounds like a loose connection with one of the audio/video cables inside the TV or a short. Contact a qualified service technician to do the fix.

LG 37LG30 HDMI no sound problem

This is more probably a software fault within the TV. They need instructions for HDMI inputs & a no sound is a related fault. I would get in touch with your dealer to arrange the TV to be updated to cure this problem. Hope this helps.
