It needs a new thermostat. this has to be done by a registered gas technician, so call for service.

call a local repair service they can test it and fix , unless it is really Old

The light may just be a burned out light bulb. Remove it and take it to an appliance store to find a replacement. As far as the oven goes, elements do burn out. They are relatively inexpensive. Make sure you have turned the oven OFF before you do anything. The heating elements do pull out and you can replace them yourself. Take the information about your oven and the heating element to an appliance store for a direct replacement.

Unplug stove and take wires off element. test for continuity on the poles. Also check wire ends.
