Printer not found on wireless network

STEP 1 : BEFORE INSTALLATION

There are a few things you have to check

When choosing a location for your wireless router, avoid having the following items between the wireless router and wireless devices on the network: long distances, walls, other wireless devices (like cordless phones), and large appliances.

Don't use two wireless routers in your home unless you are very knowledgeable about wireless networking. If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides your wireless router as part of their equipment, don't add another wireless router to it or attempt to change the existing settings without the ISP's help or knowledge.

Make the following settings on your wireless router, or verify that they've already been made:

1-Change the manufacturer's default name for the network name (SSID) to something unique.

2-Set the broadcast SSID to "on" or "enable". Note that "on" or "enable" is typically the default setting.

On the printer:

1- See if the wireless indicator lamp is illuminated. Can you turn on the wireless radio from the control panel of the printer?

Print a Network Configuration page and a Wireless Network Test report from your printer's control panel, if available.

* Does the Wireless Network Test report indicate trouble?

* Do the reports indicate that the printer is connected to your wireless router, and not to a neighbor's? The network name the printer is connected to will be shown on the both the Network Configuration page and Wireless Network Test report.

* Compare the printer's IP address to the gateway IP address. They should have a similar format (for example, the gateway IP address might be 192.168.0.1 and the printer IP address 192.168.0.5). If the printer has an IP address similar to 169.254.XXX.XXX, it probably is not connected to your wireless network.

* On some printers, the Network Configuration Page will list all wireless networks detected in your area. Is your network listed among those found? Does it have good signal strength?

* Are there several networks on your same channel or using channels close to your channel? You should use a channel at least 5 channels away from the closest used channel. Consider changing your wireless router's channel to 1, 6 or 11.

* Make sure your computer is not connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network). You cannot access devices on your wireless network while connected to a VPN.

* Disable your operating system's firewall and your security system's firewall and re-test. If this fixes the problem open ports in the firewall.

Check if theres anyway to set an Static IP (does not change) on your printer instead of a Dynamic Hp (constantly changes)

Please check you may have another wireless connection other than your own set as automatic, or more than one connection in your settings of the same name, so right click on your network icon in your task bar or in network connections in device manager and select view all wireless connections, click on it and when all the connections show, highlght, delete all of them, then close the window.
Your notebook should now indicate that it found new wireless connections, click on the popup and select your connection name and click connect, at this point you will be asked to enter the passkey if you have security enabled.

Per the information found here, it is not a wireless printer.
If you purchase a wireless print server (similar to a wireless router), you can connect just about any USB printer to it (which would be practically the same as having a wireless printer).
Some wireless print servers that support USB have a maximum of 2 USB ports and 4 or 5 network ports.
The only problem is the additional effort it takes to configure everything to work properly.

Its designed for wireless, but you need an adapter to make it wireless, the adapter
"Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3310 USB2"

I dont know if that adapter came whit your printer when you bought it, but thats what you need to make it wireless

Nothing helps. Print servers are capable of connecting a multifunction printer for printing capabilities only. For scanning, you have to connect directly to the Computer or by a Multifunction printer with wireless capabilities.
