Whirlpool washer model LSR8233EQO. The washer all at once quit spinning and emitted an awful racket like gears grinding. It will pump out water during the spin cycle but will not spin. The agitator does work.

Balance of the machine is naturally important, however if the washer has an internal problem with the drum spinning out of balance; your machine will move all around. Many times this is due to an over load of clothes or an item that falls to one side and creates a load to one side.

If you said washer spins and drains fine meaning the clutch is fine, too. It seems you have the transmission bad.

So when the cycle first starts, it will fill and agitate and spin. But then on the rinse cycle it stops?

Usually that problem is dirt in or a faulty soleniod valve...

Sounds like the clutch, mi9ne works fine but is noisey when spinning, repair guy said it was the clutch.

either motor faulty or if mtor is running then the flexibla coupling between the gearbox and the motor is faulty. Regards Advisor
