White RCA is for left input/output and red is for right input/output. The purple wires are for the rear right speaker, the green are for the left rear, the white are for the front left and the gray are for the right front.

Need to know from top left to bottom right what each wire goes to on power plug on jensen car stereo model vm9311

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the question. When wiring an aftermarket car stereo I always recommend purchasing a wiring harness that will connect into the vehicles existing harness, Then you only have to worry about connecting each wire to it's color coded counterpart. With that being said, if you do not have the stock harness I can explain the wiring colors to the best of my memory
Red = 12v Memory power
Yellow = 12v Constant power
Black = Ground
Blue/white = Power Amplifier
Blue = Power antenna
Grey = RF speaker (+)
Grey/Black = RF speaker (-)
White = LF speaker (+)
White/Black = LF speaker (-)
Purple = RR speaker (+)
Purple/Black RR speaker (-)
Green = LR speaker (+)
Green/Black = LR speaker (-)
Sometimes there is a dimmer wire also, usually orange or pink I believe
I hope this helps, & Thanks again!

Got this amp from a friend and want to wire it up to my Sony head unit. The HU does have pre-out in RCA plugs. please help. I have tried it with: RED - stereo Amp Rem In YELLOW - 12V BLACK - -12V...

Senshin,
Red- 12 volts switched (ignition)
Yellow- 12 volts constant

If you have any orange wires there for the Illumination dimmer. (head unit dims when you turn the lights on). The white and gray are front speakers and purple and green are for the rear, solid being + and black striped being -. (gray and purple are right channels)Make sure that the RCA plugs go to the input side of the amp. I hope this helps, Ray

Wiring my pioneer deh -p2000 to my speekers

Check the back of your receiver, to see the plug with a set of 8 wires that should have the following color standard:
Left front: White
Right Front: Grey
Left Rear: Green
Right Rear: Purple

Note: 1) Colored wires with a line/stripe on it is NEGATIVE, thus connect to negative on speaker. When connected, speaker cone should vibrate OUT, not inwards, otherwise reverse speaker connection;
2) You can check to see if speakers are in the right order by 'panning' balance and fader controls (from left front only to right front only, to right rear only, to left rear only in succession)
3)If there is an amplifier in your setup, the RCA plugs (like home audio plugs, should be connected instead, NEVER both!)
Hope this helps

Suburu radio wire harness. trying to match up with a new soni deck

Hello uze7, Here is the wiring match up for a 2009 Subaru Forester using the Metra 70-7552 wiring harness: NOTE: The actual harness will be listed as a Nissan harness, but has been used by Subaru since 2007. Also, I'm assuming that your Sony deck uses the standard color code. If not, you should have a manual that lists the function along with the colors. Match the wiring by function, not by color (although the colors may be the same). 2009 Subaru Forester Radio Wiring Color Code: Battery BLUE/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Accessory YELLOW/RED (+) RADIO HARNESS Ground BLACK (-) RADIO HARNESS Illumination VIOLET (+) RADIO HARNESS Dimmer BLACK/WHITE (-) RADIO HARNESS Power Antenna YELLOW/BLACK (+) RADIO HARNESS LF Speaker (+) BROWN LF Speaker (-) BROWN/WHITE RF Speaker (+) BLUE/WHITE RF Speaker (-) BLUE/YELLOW LR Speaker (+) WHITE/BLACK LR Speaker (-) RED/YELLOW RR Speaker (+) GRAY RR Speaker (-) GRAY/RED Metra Harness: Yellow ? 12V Constant Red ? 12V Accessory Black - Ground Orange ? Audio wiring problem

Constant 12V+ Blue/Yellow
Switched 12V+ Gray
Ground Brown (or your own wire to a metal grounding point)
Illumination Green
Antenna Trigger Black/Red

Front Speakers 4" Dash
Left Front (+) Pink
Left Front (-) Purple
Right Front (+) Green
Right Front (-) Blue

Rear Speakers 5 1/4" Rear Deck
Left Rear (+) Black
Left Rear (-) Yellow
Right Rear (+) Red
Right Rear (-) White

I a '83 camry, there are 2 seperate plugs that go into a factory radio.
One for Power/and front speakers, and the other for rear speakers.

Sounds as if you are missing part of the harness for the rear speakers (or it is shoved in the back of the dash unused by the previous install). If there is not an un-cut plug in the dash - your only course of action would be to run your own set of speaker wire to the rear.

See this picture... these are the plugs that should go into your factory radio....

Metra kit 71-1938 will go from your factory wiring directly into your factory radio.
