to install it you need to buy a dash kit for your car from walmart or amazon.com then you buy for your model and car the wire adapter kit. plain and simple from there. colored wires connected together easy as plug and play. to by pass the e-brake you need to buy a relay. here is something i wrote up awhile ago for a buddy to bypass his after he took pictures of his model back. On the back on the unit there should be an additional wire labeled as
the "Parking Brake" or something to that effect. Law implies that this
should be spliced into the Parking Brake wire (which is essentially a
constant hot which becomes a ground when engaged). So the obvious thing
here is to simply ground the Parking Brake wire on the back of the
radio. This can be done just splicing it into the black wire on the
radio harness.

Hi all car dvd players have a emergency brake safety feature. The pink wire is to be spliced into your emergency brake wire, or there is a code you can purchase to bypass this feature. Thank you for using fixya.com
you have to connect the wire that supose to go in the brake switch on the grounded side of that switch, now what color the wire is? it depends what brand and model of stereo you have
look at the install diagram(wiring codes) that came with the unit. if it has a wire that's designated for the parking brake (allowing you to only watch dvds while brake is engage) take that wire and instead of hooking it up to the parking brake, ground it or put an in-line switch between wire and ground so you can turn that function on and off. warning!!! watching while driving is illegal in most states
I just spliced the brake wire into my cigarette lighter positive wire to provide the voltage necessary to bypass the parking brake requirement for video. Worked like a charm. It takes almost no voltage to bypass it. Even just licking your fingers and holding the bare wire allows video to show.
