How to replace bulb in garrity stainless steel pen light

I have a Garrity stainless steel flashlight that is approximately 6 inches long. It uses two AA batteries. The light is turned on and off using a push button on the back (push on, push off). The head-end turns to "focus" the light. The lamp, itself, is incandescent. It is 9/16-inch long, including the two 1/4-inch wire leads. The flashlight was purchased 11 years ago, and the lamp just burned out. When I called Garrity, they said they no longer had replacement parts for these flashlights. Which is strange, given you can use Part 2A001 Mineature Bulb G1.27 Base bulbs available from Bulb Town in Jacksonville, FL, as replacements. They work like a champ! If you have any questions, ask to speak to Melinda.

I have a victorlite 1.5 million candle power spotlight lost charger but I have a 12 volt 1000ma- will that work??

If the voltage and tip polarity of your replacement charger matches the charging port on your spotlight, there's no reason why it shouldn't work as a substitute for your original charger. Note, however, that if your original charger was more powerful (say, 1.5 amps instead of the 1-amp charger you have here), it will take noticeably longer to fully charge your spotlight than the original charger took. it's not a problem if the original charger had a lower mA rating than the replacement in your hand--the spotlight will sip an appropriate amount of juice from the charger.

What tip polarity do I use to connect an after market charger?

The short answer is "The tip should be set to positive (+).

I found an old Vector VEC127Y Spotlight. It appeared to be in perfect condition but the battery was dead and there was no charger. I was able to buy a replacement battery at BatteriesPlus for $21 USD. Here is the link for the battery
REPLACEMENT VECTOR VEC127Y BATTERY
I also purchased a Universal A/C adapter to use as a charger at BatteriesPlus for $17 USD. Their site does not list it yet but here is the manufacturers link. Please note the original battery was rated 6Ah. The replacement is only rated for 5Ah. Which means one less Amp hour (Ah). Which means a shorter run time, after charging, than the original battery had. Otherwise they are equal.
UNIVERSAL AC ADAPTER
I installed the new battery. I set the AC Adapter to 6V and installed the largest of the seven adapter tips that came with the charger, with TIP set to be positive (+). I opened the battery compartment of the spotlight and disconnected both the red (positive +) and black (negative -) battery leads from the battery. I then plugged the adapter tip of the Universal AC Adapter into the spotlight and plugged the AC Adapter plug to a power outlet. With a multimeter I tested the polarity of the spotlight battery leads while charging. I was able to confirm that the Adapter TIP should be set to positive (+). After reconnecting the spotlight battery leads and setting the AC Adapter to charge, I have a perfectly great spotlight in full working order.
