Nope, It will almost definitly not work with your macbook. I have a macbook pro and a dell photo printer and there is no way I could get them working together. Dell does not seem to care about mac users. The installation CD for their printers do NOT work with mac os, only windows. An apple rep advised me to try using some of the laptops built in drivers, but i still couldnt get it to work. Short answer, maybe give it a try before buying another printer, but most likely you are not gonna be able to use your dell printer with the macbook. sorry, I wish dell would change their position on this issue as well.
The Dell 720 is in essence a Lexmark Z605 but is compatible only with Windows 2000 and newer Windows systems. The 720s are not Mac-compatible. The Lexmark website does, however, show Mac compatibility. This does not guarantee the Lexmark driver will work automatically with the Dell 720, but using workarounds there are some reports of success. One might assume that the Lexmark Z605 drivers will work with the Dell 720, but that is not necessarily the case.
The Lexmark driver can be downloaded from here http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=recommendedDownloads&locale=EN&productCode=LEXMARK_Z605&segment=DOWNLOAD&userlocale=EN_US#1
No Dell AIO 900 series printers can be used with Macs. To save money on
the components, these printers were built using low capability chips
that offload almost all processing to the host computer. The procedure
is completely proprietary to this branch of printers and no driver is
available for any other OS than Windows.
The printer is basically a Lexmark with a Dell logo on it, but drivers
for the comparable Lexmark printers have been confirmed not work. You
cannot use the "Generic" or "PostScript" drivers with this printer
either. Its hopeless.
