My microwave suddenly stopped working the panel light does not come on

They do have a fuse. They also have thermal cutoffs and possibly a thermal flame sensor fuse. the main fuse would be near the control panel the thermal flame sensor is usually near the back of the cavity usually on the left side on the outside of the cavity.

I understand that your Frigidaire microwave display is working but it is not heating up. Based off that information you could be seeing an issue with your magnetron or control panel. It is possible it could be a false miscommunication within the panel. I would try to reset your appliance you can do that by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. You need to give a brand name and model number so we have a better I idea what to tell you. And I work on appliances. But there is a point when it just doesn't pay to try and fix it. Evidently it has lived a long life, and now its just giving up.

you have a couple bad switches

If there is no power at all to the display or the panel then it is failure of the board. But if there is power without heating, if the turntable/fan/light works, then it can be related to failure of relay, Magnetron, Waveguide or capacitor.

It is more than likely the magnetron is fried, to replace fuse! unplug microwave oven, remove top, "several screws" look to the right to the keypad control board, look down to a printed circuit board, clipped fuse should be near by, pop it out and replace with same current rating, assemble before testing, "lethal voltages present"
