There is a lot of distortion thru the ear buds, built in speaker sounds clear.

In general, tablets don't have powerful sound systems. Some ear-buds will play louder than others, but don't expect any built-in speaker to play loudly. Try different ear-buds, that may help, or an external "amplifier".

All the headphones cannot be faulty at the same time. Check out the equipment that produces the sound first. That will be the source of the distortion.

When you pull the wire up does it increase the right ear bud volume/ sound? If it does, then it means the right side ear bud has a short within the head phones circuit which is aka the wire that leads to the musical device in which the ear buds branch off from.

If the right side ear bud does not produce an increased volume for sound by picking the wire up or pulling it in towards you or to the left side of your body or musical device then it means that the right speaker is blown.

I know that all head phones come spiced together aka they are stuck together and have to be pulled apart in order to get both head phones seperated from each other so that they can be worn in the ears. If you pulled the wire apart to much or too quickly then that is what ruined the right head phone.


I suggest that regardless if the ear phones begin to work by pulling the wire up,side ways, or into towards your body that you return them back to the store since after awhile the problem will eventually continue to happen causing the right ear bud to completely blow. Once you return the ear phones be cautious with the new set when you seperate the ear buds from each other since they are very touchy and have to be handled with delicateness when seperation is taking place.

Please let me know how it works out for you. I have had many ear buds and I tell ya something; they are very easy to blow one side when seperating. I had to learn after a few pairs that I was ruining the speakers by the way I was seperating my wires. I kept thinking for the first 3 pairs that the store was selling blown ear buds until I began having same problems with another few stores so I said to myself "well the solution is to figure out what I am doing wrong in order to blow one side of my ear buds every time". After few seconds it was not that obvious that all I had to do for assembly was to pull the wires apart in order to get both ear buds to go into my ears.

All ipod touch 3rd generations have this problem. There's something wrong with the jack, it doesn't fit earphones correctly

This is usually due to the headphones or speakers not being able to play back the audio past that point, try a different set of headphones, the earbuds might be burnt out. some earbuds **** and cant play sounds past a certain dB the general dB levels tolerated without distortion are about 104-110 ish, but if you are listening anywhere near that your gonna hurt your ears. tests have shown that audio levels past about 90dB will seriously damage your ears after prolonged usage. Generally get nice in-ear ear buds with noise cancelation and never move your audio past 90% to clearly hear the music without damaging your ears.

I got my girlfriend some Jbuds J2 and they are great and i prefer them over my 200$ bose ear buds. check amazon they are about 14$ the J3's are around 24$

O.K hear is the deal on most factory car Speakers their not very high wattage they don't need to be, see Distortion level has as much to do with Sound Quility as Power you don't need a lot of Power if the unit is crystal clear this is usely done thru Low Wattage because of Voltage humm and grounding issues most of your Factory Units have great to Exceptional Ground and very low levels of distortion 0.2 % or Lower that is the reason they sound so Great there crystal clear they won't blow Your Windows out but you can hear every little chim or Musical Note that the system can put out.power is Impressive as far as looks but not nessasary as far as great Sound untill you get to your very high end cars that have custom installed systems most are Low Voltage Low Distortion Units and Speakers
