Either the moister sensor is bad or the venting needs to be cleaned thoroughly. If clogged full of lint the sensor shuts down the heat until it is cleaned out

How to install dryer belt for a ge model dbsr453gb3ww

  • Unplug the dryer and pull it out from the wall.

  • 2

Remove the top of the dryer by opening the door and taking out the screws along the top of the opening, then lifting the top. Remove the front of the dryer by reaching down into the opening at the top and taking out the screws holding the front in place. Move the front piece out of the way just enough so you can get to the drum inside, without disconnecting the electrical wires running from the front piece to the unit.

  • 3

Move to the back of the dryer and remove the screws holding on the small access panel at the bottom. Remove the panel. This will give access to the two pulleys holding the thin belt that runs around the drum. With your pencil and paper, draw a diagram showing exactly how the pulleys are strung. Then slip the belt off the pulleys so it's hanging loosely on the drum.

  • 4

Return to the front of the dry and pull the belt off the drum from the front. Put the new belt on the drum from the front, laying the ribbed side against the surface of the drum.

  • 5

Return to the back of the dryer and restring the belt through the two pulleys, using your diagram as a guide. Use your hands to manually turn the drum at least one full turn to make sure the belt is lined up.

Whirlpool Estate gas clothes dryer runs but the heat only lasts for about 10 minutes. the drum will be turning the heat will be on but only for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the drum will still be...

Hello,

The gas coils have failed. These are the two round devices on the gas valve. You would need to open the dryer to access and replace the gas valves. Every make and model is different.

With the model number I would be able to better assist you.

Whirlpool duet dryer - when using the settings that automatically sense if the clothing is dry the dryer is saying the clothes are dry but the clothing is still damp

Easy fix: Look inside the drum below where the filter goes in. You will see two metal strips. They sense the wetness. Now get this: the dryer sheets rub against them and a thin wax buildup on them prevents the controls from properly determining wetness. The control has no clue the clothes are still damp and thinks everything is kosher; so it advances to the end. Solution. Clean the stuff off of the sensors so that they can sense the true wetness once again.

Matag Gas Dryer not heating up

Check the glowbar igniter at the gas valve. When calling for heat(turned on and running) it should register 3 amps or more on a clamp on amp meter. If 120 volts of power is going to the glowbar and it does not glow,it is bad. All thermostats and relays should be checked for continuity. If any read 0 it is a bad part.

Is yours the gas model? If so I need you to look for some things. Open back door panel and see if while trying to light the igniter is glowing orange. Sea Breeze

Dryer heats up but clothes not getting dry after several cycles

Hi, First thing you want to check is the 4" vent that goes to the outside. Make sure that it is clear of lint and that it is no pinched or kinked at all. Is this electric or gas dryer and what model is it?

Hi I am trying to clean my drain unsder my washer. I do not know how to pull the cover off.?? It appears I need special alan wrenchs for two little screws..?? any ideas??

Though the idea of repairing a clothes dryer can be pretty intimidating, the truth is that some types of repairs are surprisingly easy. Yes, dryers appear to be built like huge, impervious metal boxes, but they are typically pretty easy to open and relatively simple to fix.

As shown at How Clothes Dryers Works, a clothes dryer has a motor that turns a big drum containing the clothes, a heat source for blowing warm air into the drum to dry the clothes, and controls for operating the motor and heat source.
Some dryers have an electric element to do the heating while others utilize a gas flame; the latter must be vented.
Clothes dryer problems generally occur because the heat source doesn't heat properly or the motor fails to turn the drum.
If a gas dryer doesn't dry properly, the first thing to check is the pilot light or igniter--it may not be lighting the burner. The second thing to check is the dryer's vent-if it is clogged with lint, the heating system won't work properly.

Pay attention to basic safety measures when working on a dryer. Always unplug the dryer, and turn off the gas supply to a gas dryer at the appliance shutoff valve.
As with most appliances, maintenance will keep your dryer purring. Clean the lint trap after every load, and clean the vent system once a year.
