My icemaker dispenser flap gets stuck in the open position and there is such a build up of frost around the chute from the actual ice maker that the cubes cannot pass down. There is no problem with the ice making itself. Also could it be the seal around the freezer door along with the combination of all these things? Thanks

If you take a look at this diagram, you should be able to see all the inner workings of that area and decide if you want to repair it. I think anyone with the most basic mechanical skills could easily handle this repair. See parts 62,63,67, etc. Could just be the spring is off or broken. There is an electric solenoid that opens the door. If you look up inside the dispenser you can see the solenoid. Either the solenoid is bad or the dispenser module that puts power to it is out. You will need to remove dispenser front and check for voltage to solenoid. If you have power from module, replace solenoid, if no power, replace both parts. It is common for solenoid to short out and damage the module so that both must be replaced. If solenoid is shorted and you replace module, new part will fry.

well check to see if door seal is split if it is get new one!! need to see photo of the frozon over dispenser- found before that when ice not bein used alot the odd time you will have to take out the ice in the bucket crack it up and put back in try this???

The stuck on crush mode , is caused by ice frosted in front of the ice bin , blocking the ice bin flap from opening , when calling for cube ice . Removing the ice bin and cleaning or defrosting completely , will solve this problem , AFTER , resolving the frost in shoot problem .
Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This removes any power , going to the door . If no plug there , remove the bottom kick plate , by removing the screw on each side in the front , and disconnect the receptical from the wires comming from the bottom of the freezer door .
Remove the dispensor control board , by prying , or pulling , from the bottom of the board . Disconnect the 3 plugs to the board . You should now see the white dispensor cover , being held on by 4 screws . Remove these screws , and slide the cover out .
In the top right , inside the dispensor area , you will see a solenoid with a plunger , with the door flap arc , inserted into the plunger . Usually rust inhibits the movement of the plunger , keeping the door flap from closing completely .
Remove the 3 screws holding the plunger and solenoid ( part number WR62X10055 ) and replace . Cleaning will not help , due to rust will return .

This may be because the chute door is not all the way shut when off. If yes the warm moist air is being pulled through the opening and causing this. Sea Breeze
