Probably not...usually, this is just a dirty filter...i f that's clean, then try cleaning the propulsion jets w/a paper clip...also, if you've modified/cut away any hose over the years, that can screw up the geometry too and cause circling...also, check for lineleaks and overall pressure (~20psi usually, go higher if needed to avoid circling), and be sure the backup valve turns off when not backing up...if overall pressure is too low due to leaks, etc., it will circle.
