How to set a password for my wifi netgear wireless-G Router?

plug computer into ethernet port of router
Via blue ethernet cat5 patch cable
try user name admin
and password as password
try 192.168.1.1 ( later version of router ) or 192.168.0.1 for router ip address in an internet browser.
then look at the wi fi settings for wi fi security encrption key or add one if not set .

All netgear routers have the same default user names and passwords, so unless you have changed it you should still be able to use the default one set by the manufacture.

Hello, I dont think you need the drivers for Router. And first of all you need to connect your modem to your router through ethernet cable. And after connecting your modem, configure your wireless router by typing this IP address in internet explorer: 192.168.1.1 The user id is admin and the password is password. Then detect your broadband connection by using the option in the router. Try connecting your Laptop to wifi after setting the connection.

Connect the router ot the machine via the ethernet cable and open up a web page in the address bar type in the ip address of the router typically 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 once in there should be a security section to make the router secure wep wpa or wpa2.

Wpa2 would be my recommendation as it is the most secure.
