The FM radio feature did not come standard on all HDD1600 models - mostly they were on the European instead of the US variants - unfortunately, they did not consider this when they printed the manuals in Europe

Sounds to me like your VFW drivers have either been corrupted or arent installed properly.
You can find VFW dirvers at the following site for most Operating systems.
Hope this helps.

BOUGHT
MY PHILIPS SAA7130 TV TURNER/FM RADIO THE MANUAL STATES THAT I MUST
INSERT THE CD KEY FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN ISTALING BUT I DIDNOT SEE THE
OPTION WHEN INSTALLED MY CARD AND IT SAYS FM RADIO OPTIONAL BUT NOTHING
IS PLAYING FROM RADIO
Unplug power to the monitor before you attempt to install the tuner module and the Imp-1200 must be physically installed in slots 2 and 3 on the monitor.
Once card is installed, power on the monitor and enter the setup menu. highlight the OSD option then press and hold the surround button on the remote. This will enter a set of new options go to the digital slot option on page 3 and select slot 2. You should be done.
OK this seems to easy a fix for you, but try it.
* In the main menu where it lists your options (and where FM Radio would be) press the 'Menu' button on your Microphoto (bottom right button) and there is an option to 'Configure Menu' and in there should be the option to show FM Radio again. Hope that helps you.
I have a similar, but different problem, so ill list below, maybe it will help someone out.
i also replaced the (broken) 8gb microdrive with 8gb compact flash in my Zen Microphoto, which worked flawlessly! BTW i bought the A-Data 'SPEEDY CF 8GB' from newegg.com.
My FM Radio still shows up, but only gets MONO sound on the Right channel, its very frustrating. i took it all apart again and made sure no connections were loose or broken, but everything seems perfect. i believe it to be a firmware issue, i think ill try to roll back the drivers. im using firmware 1.31.01.
its just annoying to have to roll back to Media Player 10 everytime just to install the firmware and have windows properly communicate with the zen... :[
You should be able to go to the menu on your unit as long as there is not a plug in the audio out socket, and it should give you the FM Frequency option. If you remove the plug from the audio out, you will want to power the unit off and back on to get the FM option to appear when you push the menu button.
Every where you site this model on the web, it has an inbuilt FM tuner... you not even having that option is really weird. I take it you have been through the manual to see what is what? :)
There is a firmware upgrade for it here you could do that first and see how you go.
If that does not fix it, I suggest you take it to a Sony service center. I am sure they willl exchange it for you.
