On/Off Button on TV not working, constant flashing message
Turned TV on this evening, a message started flashing in the centre of the screen: "This function is not available now." We cannot turn the TV Off/On now with the button on the front of the TV and even though we can turn it off with the remote control, it goes on again by itself, won't stay shut off. We even unplugged the TV, hoping to possibly reset it, but when we plugged it back in, message resumed and front button still does not work. HELP!!

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.

While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
Hi, maybe the TV controller board is blocked, you can reset it, by disconnecting power cable from outlet for about 5 minutes, if that doesn't work, possibly and internal board or component must be repaired of replaced, in such case it's better to contact an authorized Samsung service center or technician to check your TV.
hi,
Yor tv has problem with back lighting. This tv uses LED (Light Emitting Diodes) as back light. These back light modules are not availabe in the maket now. You have to contact the authorised servicing centre for the same. You will get an idea how it works by the help of following picture.
This tv have a colors wheel,it dying, now it dead.Colors flashes black&white and grinding noises, the colors wheel was spinning off of it motor axis and rubbing it sides wall. The colors wheel, now require changing to make the tv work again. The colors wheel it pretty hard to replaced, because it require take out many machanicals parts even can get to the colors wheel to replaced it.Best it to hire a tv tech. to do the job.If u never done or change anythings, that require take out alots and many machanicals parts before.
Nonstop blinking is likely a DM or format board - format board most likely. I have rebuilt several of these by simply replacing all the caps, about 70 of them, and takes about two hours start to finish... But this set does need to boot. It takes about 70 seconds of flashing green light before you're able to press the power button - even when everthing is working as it should..
Hope this helps!

According to Sharp it is a software problem. Engineer came, installed software update ,10 minute job.....TV worked fine for 1/2 day unfortunately: Then images turned black and white in all channels TV turned itself off, and stanby and OPC buttons started flashing. When TV came back on its own 10 mins later , screen had 2 large square staines superimposed in image (as if it was a burnt screen)...Engineer will be back next week...all quite sad really for a new TV.....will keep u posted
