One of your connections is either broken or missing a rubber gasket or a hose clamp. You have a lock ring on the top that basically bolts to the drain of the sink which is part of the disposal, IT has a rubber gasket or two on it, some have plumbers putty on the very top, the hose that goes from the dishwasher, if you have one, has a hose clamp on it, the drain line into the trap is a compression fit, needs to be tight, and it is usually bolted or screwed into the disposal itself with a rubber gasket. Check these out and tighten them up. Hope this helps.

In Sink Erator leaks half way down

1) Copy following link for troubleshoot and replacement tips.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-repair-and-install-Garbage-disposal.html

2) Insinkerator usually has 5 year warranty.
If unit is leaking, then replace with new disposal.
Waste King disposals have longer warranty, but local hardware sells Insinkerator/Badger for less.

My Badger 5 in sink erator is leaking at the bottom of the unit where the electrical wire is connecting tot the metal plate. When turned on, there is a humming noise but the blades do not spin. I have

Thier is an Allen key hole at the very bottom and center of the badger. Try using that with an Allen key. And if it leaks your from where your wires are coming out of your seal is probably bad. Means new badger

I have the Badger 5 in sink erator under sink food disposer and it is leaking from a small on the bottom of the unit. How can I repair the unit?

Disposal is rusted out and needs to be replaced.
If you plug the hole, the motor compartment will fill with water and short out the electric.
I wrote ez replacement steps from when I worked apartment maintenance:

My sink erator badger 5 is leaking at the bottom, should I replace it or try and stop the the leaking.

mine was leaking from bottom, dripping off power cord...pulled it apart..the pan that separates the water and food from the electric motor was developing pin holes from corrosion...I dont know that you can get this part...was thinking about tacking a small weld...but best off getting a new one...I am sure it has served...

In sink erator is leaking from bottom

I had this happen right before my disposal stopped working completely. Mine was leaking from the same place. The one I had was a 2 year Badger. They are easy to replace. If yours still works I would keep using it and just sit a pan down below to catch water. A new Badger 1 year cost $80 at Home Depot. If you get one, do not worry about buying extra gaskets or the black sink strainer thing because the new one will come with everything needed except for the plumbers putty. You will need plumbers putty. Good Luck

In sink erator leaking at bottom by electrical connection

I don't think it can be fixed by anyone other than the factory. I wanted to find a parts list so I could buy a seal that goes above the motor housing (which is where i think the problem really is) and repair it myself. I wish I had better news but since the leak is small and the motor still works, I'm going to keep a bucket beneath it and periodically empty it as recommended by a previous contributor.
