My oven will only heat up to 250 degrees

Conventional oven heats up to 250 degrees only
Convection oven heats up to 245 degrees only
That was this morning, now my oven does not give off any heat in both the conventional or convection settings.
We had a repair done back in January 2010 in which the repairman put a new switch part # 9750639 in, now my oven has the same symtoms. What could be the problem?

What does convection cooking mean?

A convection oven cooks food with heat; much like a conventional oven. It is faster, though, as it circulates the air around inside the cavity.

So, it's faster than a conventional oven, but slower than a microwave oven.

Conventional ovens which also microwaved at the same time, have also been manufactured.
They were also faster than a conventional oven, but slower than a microwave. But they were not the same as a convection oven as they did not circulate the air.

Difference between a convection oven and a conventional oven

A convection oven is equipped with a fan to speed the circulation of heat around the food, thus cooking it faster and more evenly than conventional ovens.

Conventional ovens rely on radiant heat that rises from the bottom up to the top of the oven. Convection ovens cook foods approximately 25% faster than conventional ovens, and the oven temperature can be reduced by 25°F for most foods.

No special cookware is required. Just like conventional ovens, convection ovens can be gas- or electrically-heated. As with any major appliance, it is always best to carefully read the manufacturer's guidelines and instructions for operating the oven.

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

It takes 28 minutes for the oven to reach temperature of 375 degrees. The ready buzzer goes off in about 15 minutes. The temperature is 300 degrees. Is there any adjustments to be made.

what is your oven if is gas or electric, if is gas easy to preheat by using lower heating element, if electric? that your unit have convection? or not? coz some probelm of the oven is, 1 if the oven is no convection or your oven is single heating in upper element,if your oven have a timer and cut off in 15minute? dont use timer, use a manual timer by it your self,if you want to reach the degrees that you want check your oven if der a lower and upper heating element with convection function, that the one is the most easy way to reach the degree that you want to reach.

We just purchased a frigidaire professional gas/electric convection oven. It is clearly not heating appropriately. Any ideas?

put an oven termometer in side the oven for about 20 minuts at 250 degrees that will tell you how bad it is. behing the oven knob you will find inside the shafh for the thermostat a small adjustment screw. you can calibrate it.
