The amber lights just below the charge indicator have 5 steps. pushing the buttons once only moves it 1 time in the direction of the button pushed. Make sure that all 5 lights are on. The chair is only geared for about 4 to 4.5 MPH, That is about average walking speed. Good luck.

What can i do to speed upp chair?

1. Use the buttons or dial on the joystick to adjust speeds.
2. Use the programmer to reprogram the top speed- which will be about 4mph. This is a pretty typical top speed on low-end wheelchairs. Remember, speed affects performance- the faster you go, the worse the braking and turning gets, and the tippier the chair gets. Also remember that wheelchairs have very few safety features for crashes and tips.
3. Invest in a pair of high performance motors and motor controller (which probably means a new joystick, too). You'll also need better batteries since the faster speeds will put more demand on them. Your best source for this sort of information will be wheelchair user forums.
4. Buy a high performance wheelchair, like the Bounder High Performance (http://www.wheelchairs.com/fast.htm)

Most people who use chairs want more speed, but wheelchairs are TIGHTLY regulated by the government, and there are lots of restrictions on what they can and cannot do.

How long can i run chair on one charge'

With new, fully charged batteries, you can get a good 8 miles at full speed with a normal weight load on the chair. The chair goes about 4-5 mph, so an hour and a half or more at full speed on level terrain. Be sure to always recharge daily, keep the chair on the charger when not in use(batteries will die if you don't)and avoid running the batteries all the way down....try to stay in the top 2/3 charge range and you will get more life.

I have a Jazzy 1103 Ultra and the lights are all on like it should be but the chair will not move. I am in Mississippi visiting my daughter and would love someone to help me. Thanks!

It could be a few things.
It might be on freewheel. To solve this: 1. Turn the chair off. 2. Locate the freewheel lever just behind the drive wheel, and on top of the motor. 3. Push the lever inward to engage the motors. 4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side. 5. Turn the chair on and see if it works .
If not, it the circuit breaker might need to be reset because of heavy strain on the motors and batteries. To solve this: 1. Turn the chair off. 2. Find the circuit breaker on the front of the case, off to the right side (you will see a hole in the case) 3. Press the circuit breaker button. 4. Turn the chair on and see if it works.
if not, the battery may need to be disconnected and reconnected To do this 1. Turn the chair off 2. Release the friction lock lever under the seat. 3. Remove the seat. 4. Release the rear shroud fastener and the yellow fastener under the front shroud. 5. Remove the shroud. 6. Disconnect and reconnect the battery connector (the big plug) 7. Replace the shroud and seat. 8. Turn the chair on and see if it works.
If not, contact your provider.

Have just purchased a Jet 2 power chair. The top speed is less than walking speed. Is this normal or is there some thing wrong?

Sandy Well could be. Hows that for an answer? It depends on the batteries and the speed setting. If the batteries are getting weak then they won't drive the chair as fast as new or good batteries. If the speed is not set to max then it won't go as fast as you like You can set the speed on the joystick. Now if the speed is set to max and you are still going slow and the batteries are new or good then it could be the program. Check with a provider(Person or Company that sells chairs) in your area and ask if they can check the programmed settings for you. If they have a PP1 programmer they should be able to easily check the settings and adjust them higher if they aren't already set there. Good Luck Hope this helps you

To slow, i need it to go faster

Are your batteries fully charged? Are the batteries 2 years old or older? Even with a full charge older batteries will not generate amperage to make the chair go as fast as when new. Also the motors tend to slow down with age due to brushes wearing down. Now, if the batteries are new and the motors are not that old then you need to find a wheelchair provider that has a PP1 programmer and have then check the settings for forward speed etc. If the speed is not set to 100 then they can increase the forward speed to 100%. Hope this helps you

Re: Pride Jazzy 1103 Ultra. Chair is acting like the seat is still elevated and the speed is set to slow (with indicator light flashing). Please let me know what should I be checking?

When the power seat lift lowers down, there is usually a bracket that pushes a button under the seat that tells the motor the seat is lowered and the power chair is safe to operate. Sometimes the bracket can get bent and the button does not get pressed when the seat goes down. Check under the seat around the seat post for the button and make sure the bracket is connecting to it. Carefully bend it back into place if it is not hitting the button properly. If the bracket came off, it will need to be replaced.
Good luck!

How do I increase the speed . It seems that it ran faster on the straight and now I don't feel with all the bars lit that the speed is like it used to be. Please tell me what I can do to make sure I will...

How long have you noticed the decrease in speed? Are you charging the batteries regularly? Have you checked your air pressure in your drive tires?
If the batteries are getting old or the power chair has been stored for a while, the batteries may not be taking a full charge. If your speed indicator is showing full like always but the power chair is not responding like it used to, it may be a battery issue.
As you operate the power chair, listen for noise and pay attention to see if there is any vibration, this may indicate a mechanical problem that is causing power drain.
If not, your power chair may still be within normal parameters, just not "new out of the box" anymore. Make sure that you decrease your speed when going up inclines to avoid excess wear on the motors.
Good luck!

The chair does not have a manual with it. It has new batteries fully charged. How do I turn it on and make it go?

The top button on the controller with a circle and dash line is the power button. Sit down, buckle your seat belt, lower the footrest, power the chair on and press the joystick forward. You can control the speed by using the 2 lower buttons with horizontal dashes one them; 2 dashes goes slower, 4 dashes goes faster. The second row of lights is the speed indicator, you will see this light change as you change the speed.
Good luck, be safe, and let me know if you have further questions!
