The F20 error is a no water detected entering machine error and yes it is related to the hot water not being hooked up.
Newer washers sense and control the incoming water temperature. If you select cold wash and cold rinse you may think that it will not ask for hot water so you don't need it hooked up but you can't do that on this washer.
Even on a cold wash the temperature sensor will read the temperature of the incoming water. If your cold water is 60 degrees then the control will sense this and it may cycle the hot water on to bring the temperature up to 70 degrees.
check 2 things, first make sure that the rinse dispenser is full of "jet dry" or some other type of rinse agent. it has to have some to be able to provide a "sheeting" to allow water to drip off the dishes. the other is to make sure you are using the heat dry and your water at the kitchen faucet is above 120 degrees. no heat dry and too cold of water can cause condensation to form and keep the dishes wet.
your heating coil has gone bad it`s that rod looking thing in the bottom of your unit under your spray washing spinner depending on the age of your unit your probley better off buying a new dishwasher
It seems that the newer dishwashers are worse at drying dishes than their tupperware melting predecessors were. They have all been tuned down, and do dry less. The only thing that you can do is to set your machine for the hottest wash, power dry and use a rinse agent that provides a sheeting action. Some folks use white vinegar as a supplement to their rinse aid, which has the added bonus of killing mold. Water also stays attached if the water has laid down minerals as noted by cloudy glassware. If this is the case, a dishwasher filter (dishwasherfilter.com, $70) might help. We try to wash hot, with a power dry and use a rinse aid/vinegar. Then, when the cycle is complete, but the dishes are still hot, we open the dishwasher, and "jiggle" the racks to get the excess water off of the glasses, and leave the dishwasher open about 2" at the top, so the dishes will continue to air dry. This has been an effective method for us.

YOU NEED TO CHECK THE WATER TEMPERATURE AFTER THE TUB IS FILLED WITH WATER WHEN COLD IS SELECTED. NEW MACHINES WILL USE BOTH THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES TO FILL THE MACHINE. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU WASHING WITH STRICTLY COLD WATER AS THE DETERGENT WILL NOT PROPERLY DISOLVE. COLD WASH TEMP SHOULD AVERAGE 65-70 DEGREES.
If you've installed it recently make sure the hot water tap was plumbed in and not the cold water tap, check the hot water tap temp in the house to make sure it's getting warm, there also should be a heating element located inside of the dishwaher that heats up to help the dishes dry at the end of the wash cycle, which is controled by a thermostat. If the heating element or the thermostat are bad your dishes won't dry.
It is very common that high eficiency, low water using dishwashers take longer to finish all cycles. The best way to "hurry" the washing is to make sure that the water heater is providing hot water of at least 120 degrees. But no hotter then 140 degrees.
If the dishwasher runs even longer, check to see is the dishwasher is actually connected to the cold water line. This dishwasher can be run from cold water but the water heating phase in the cycles will add much time ti the entire cycle.
This unit has a sensor that detects the detects the water clarity towards the end of the wash cycle. Rinsing the dishes may speed the load a little, but encourage not to go crazy on the rinsing because the dishwasher actually counts on the food particles to help clean the dishes.
Also, note that the final (third) blinking light means drying. You can simply open the door anytime after the final draining and power off the dishwasher, allowing the hot dishes to air dry.

Just bought a Bosch dishwasher and we were told that they have no heating mechanism to dry the dishes, which is why they are more energy efficient. You are supposed to leave the door closed for at least one hour after the cycle is complete. The heat that has built up inside during the wash cycle will dry the dishes. It is also recommended to always use JetDry. If you follow this advice, the dishes will come out fine.
These dishwashers have no heater for drying dishes. It has a fan to circulate warm air. It is very important that your water temp is at least 120 degrees. It is the combination of hot water and air circulating that dries dishes.
