My Printer isn't printing the correct colors. My photos look like an old Polaroid picture with a washed out greeny/yellow color to them?!?! I bought staples brand ink which said it was compatible with my printer, I thought this might be the issue so I replaced it once again with the true canon brand but its still happening! HELP!

Try this take an old empty cartridge and mix some ink cleaning fluid into each of the tanks. Now take some alcohol and a Q--tip and wipe the heads on the contacts where the cartridge comes in contact with the printer head.
There are three contacts that control color and one that controls the black . Clean with the alcohol, wipe with a Kleenex or a dry q-tip lightly. Now lightly shake the used printerhead to mix the cleaner into the residual ink that remains in the Printer cartridge. Now once the the cartridge has bee reinstalled in your printer go through a printerhead cleaning and head alignment evolution. Instructions for this should be in your printer manual which is a drop down program on the Printer Program Main File Icon. Some printers will automatically set up this program on the screen in easy to follow steps. If this doesn't work its time to get a new printer , add it to your Christmas list.

SOURCE: when printing colored picture the yellow color is not working

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

SOURCE: Changing print color cartridge

The cartridge you have change are did not much or not compatible with your printer. You just buy a cartridge with the same brand of your previous cartridge that used and to make sure that your printer are recognize it. Because some compatible ink are cannot be recognized by other printer.

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

Color on photos suddenly has a blue - purple wash with no greens

Your yellow cartridge is probably not working as your photos suggest. Remove and reinsert the yellow cartridge. Try printing only yellow color.
Your printer has a separate head for printing; the nozzle for yellow ink might be clogged. Try running a head cleaning routine from your printer software.

Picture prints too pink

What you see on the screen is quite often not what prints. Sometimes the screen will not show a slight color anomoly. If your pictures were taken with a digital camera, this is quite common. Try the photo enhancement software that came with your camera, or alternately, your printer. They all supply the software because of color corrections that are at times necessary. Sometimes always. Hope that helps. Try the "Auto Correct" function that most photo correction software has. That should help!

Only prints in yellow color

The printer must be able print all colors in order to execute the alignment. Part of the alignment process involves scanning printed colored (all colors including yellow) bars. See the web page below for a sample of the printout. I suggest that you clean the carriage and cartridge electrical contacts with a cotton swab moistened with water. If you still fail to get yellow, test the cartridge in another printer. ping me for the make of printer, anyways if it an HP series refer to the website below

Color Photo Conductor Unit

the vertical line that you saw is an indication of either it is normally worn out, or something has caused the scratched, by any material ( PC drum is very sensitive to any material and can easily damaged or scratched any solid and unwanted dirt inside) see you actual meter reading. if it falls on the first thousand copies or print then it might have caused by a scratched, if it falls beyond the PM parts repalcement then there is nothing you can do but to replace this.

sometimes you can swap the colors, by the affected color use the yellow drum unit to the affected drum, the vertical would not that be obvious.
