No Sound Coming out my Microphone

I just purchased the Philips PH62080 microphone. I plugged it into my computer as I need to record my voice on a computer program. The volume is all the way up, and there is still no sound coming out of the microphone and nothing can be recorded.

I know this might sound a little obvious and maybe irrelevant to the problem, but did you press the switch on the mic? it will turn the mic on and off. make sure sound and mic are unmuted in windows volume control. if both are these didnt solve the problem, test the mic on another computer. if the mic works, maybe its not the mic that has the problem. if the mic doesnt work, then your mic may be defective or damaged in some way or other.

This same thing happened to me. All I did was plug the mic into my keyboard, turned the mic volume to max, and turned the mic on. Then, I grabbed the part of the mic where the cord goes in, and started turning it. I turned it left and started hearing noise come out of the mic. I kept on doing this, until sound came out of the mic. I did this, and now the mic works again. Hope this helps!

Assuming you are running windows XP you need to

1. right click the speaker in the lower right corner and select adjust audio properties.

2. Select the audio tab

3. Pull the drop down menu under sound recording and make sure it is selected to your audio driver device. Most are either soundmax, creative(for soundblaster and audigy standalone cards), realtek, or ASUS.

4. Next repeat step one but select open volume control

5. Go to options and then properties

6. Select the circle for recording and make sure your mic input is checked.

7. Close that window and recording mixers will pop up. Select the input you need by checking the box in the lower left corner of the mixer channel. Adjust the level and then use your recording program or sound recorder under Program files>accesories>communication>sound recorder.

I can't figure out where to plug it in

Any sound system that has a mic in will accept this microphone although you may need a 3.5 to 2.5 or 3.5 to 1/4" stereo adaptor depending on the equipment your plugging the microphone into.

When I record into a recording program only one half, I believe the right side records. Why is that?

You need a adaptor jack. The mike probley has a mono (2 conductor) plug and the recorder probley has a stereo (3 conductor) jack.
If you take the mike to radio shack and explain the issue they'll sell you a $5 adaptor.

Phillips microphone plugged into stereo input and cannot get it to work

The stereo input is not sensitive enough to amplify the small electrical current coming out of a microphone. You need either a mixer or a pre amp to do that.
