This maybe because of BIOS error or change in BIOS setup, maybe you have tried overclocking on of PC's component.or maybe a faulty hard disk.the best way is to open the case and remove battery of motherboard and wait for 20 seconds and then put the battery in place and check cable connections and make sure they are fastened. but befire touching anything in PC get rid of your hands static charge by touching metal pipes or window metal frame or if you can wear anti-static charge gloves.change the BIOS to default setting by just pressing F2 or whatever is written when you boot and in setup just select default setting and save and exit. I am repeating try removing battery for 20 seconds. it really works for lots of problems.

The best solution is for you to check your memory stick on the motherboard . remove by pressing aside the two clip sideways and the memory stick fly out from its socket then put it back on the slot writing one (1) so as to verify the stick then re-ON the system if it doesn't then change the memory to a good one and test it back ok.if it didn't work out re post the problem ok.

Computer won't boot and can't figure out why. Keeps going through the loop that's shown in video.

Try unplugging the computer from the power source while its doing this. Wait 5 minutes, then plug back in.

With any luck it will reboot. Its worth a try.

Most likley you have a fried power supply. Try this first unplug the computer from the power cord for 5 minutes then plug back in and go into safe mode see how to go into safe mode below.

To start the computer in safe mode 1.
You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut your computer down in step 2.
2.
Click Start and then click Shut Down.
3.
In the drop-down list of the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.
4.
As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.
5.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and then press ENTER.
6.
If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

BOOTING PROBLEM

If the computer will not power on:

  1. Make sure the power cord or AC adapter is plugged into the computer and into an electrical outlet that is live.
  2. If it is plugged into a power strip or surge protector make sure it is powered on.
  3. Try using a different electrical outlet.
  4. Check voltage setting on power source (AC Adapters are auto switching).
  5. Perform a power reset on the computer.

To perform a power reset:

  1. Unplug and remove the AC adapter and battery, or power cable from the computer.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the computer for about 30 seconds.
  3. Release the power button and plug the AC adapter and battery, or power cord back into the computer.
  4. Press the power button and see if the computer powers up.
  5. If that does not work, try a different AC adapter, battery, or power cable and repeat these steps.

If the problem persists the computer may need service. You may need to contact Acer support.

Dell 1505 laptop..amber light flashes constantly, battery shows 100% but when I unplug AC...no power

Hi there!

The problem you're having there is a motherboard issue,
The computers power button is amber and it flashes that means the power inside the computer is not being distributed properly. You said that the battery is 100% charged but when you unplug the AC the computer will have no power, that means the motherboard is failing, its not identifying the battery as a source of power anymore,

You can try to use another ac adapter and check if the computer will boot up, or try to unplug and plug the memory and hard drive see if any changes will happen,
If the computer turns on with another ac adapter and boots up to windows properly then try to update the bios.
If the ac did not also the memory and hard drive,.
You'll really need to get a new motherboard.

Hope this helps!

Tower problems

You may need to replace the cmos battery, its a cr2032 3v button cell
Make sure all your expansion cards and memory are reseated.
Make sure all cables are reseated.
your power supply could be bad

If that doesn't work try this

Here is my fix for the dell dimension 4400 amber light problem. It works!
replace cmos battery.
then unplug power cord form wall about 5-10 secs.
then plug it back in, wait 5 secs.
If amber light comes on, press and hold power button until it goes out.

(with light out, press and hold power button while amber light comes on and goes off again holding power button 2-3 secs after light goes out.) repeat whats in parenthesis until computer turns on
it should only take about 6, 7 tries.

After the computer boots, you may want to setup cmos or boot into windows.
After you shutdown, unplug power cord for 5-10 secs then plug it back in.
Press and hold the power button, computer should come on.
I found that's the only way to turn on the computer.
If you shutdown and don't unplug power cord the computer may not boot, mine didn't.
Strange I'd say
