Dell Axim X50v Pocket PC Logo
Posted on Mar 28, 2008

I have a Dell Axim x50v running with original ppc2003. Then I upgraded it to Windows mobile 2005, and used for couple of months then it crashed! Now the issue is both soft & hard reset stop loading at 80%, I've contacted Dell but they couldn't do anything! Please advice what's the problem and what should I do next? I've already tried with three button combo: record-power-reset and the system test shows all hardware is working fine!!!

Same problem. Soft and hard reset can't even stard any advice screen. When the problem started, it was frozen at the dell round simbol, that i just could turn it off by removing battery. Now, its even worse, the screen is off, even after pressing the two and tree buttons at the same time, it doesn't hard reset. What else should i do?

Just ordered the dell axim x50 is it worth it or is is so old i cant link it with my computer vist 32 bit

You need to Download "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista" instead of ActiveSync. Make sure you download the correct version that matches your Vista OS level (ie 32 or 64 bit)

Axim x50, buttons all work, syncs without a problem but sometimes freezes

You might need to hard reset it or update your Dell Axim x50

it is important to know if you have an x50 or a x50v. here are two vids. first one is for x50, x51. second one is for x50v, x51v.

REINSTALLATION OF DELL AXIM 50 PDA

You will need the disk that contains the firmware. The best thing to do is check on Amazon or ebay and upgrade to the highest firmware your device can accept. I belive the cost for a downloadable copy is between $5-10. If you do this make sure to follow the instructions for you can irrevocably render the device useless. :-(

I want to conect my dell x50v to my laptop to store data

The x50 contains no special drivers that I am aware of. If your dektop runs Windows XP, install Activesync. Windows Vista has Active Sync Center (Vista's Activesync).

Need to find Active-sync program for Dell Axim 51V

I believe Active Sync has been replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista. I'm not using my Axim any longer but was able to sync it using Windows Mobile Device Center. You should be able to download at :
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx

Hope this helps.

X50v and primer pdf

Windows mobile does come wth a task manager it's in the settings window under system > memory > running programs. However, this is not a process manager, but Airscanner mobile antivirus pro comes with a good process manager built in as well as a good lot of other stuff as well. Did you try a soft reset of the device to get rid of it? You should be ok running any software designed for the ARM processor.
