Maytag Jetclean Quiet Pack. Do not know model #, but it is about 10 - 15 years old. Running water from kitchen sink for an extended period of time causes water to collect in basin of dishwasher and eventually runs out onto the floor. I don't know where to look for the leak, whether or not it is caused by a clog, or where the overflow is coming from, but it does flow under the cabinet onto the floor on the other side of the kitchen wall.
Today is Sunday, May 9th, but this also happened on this past Easter Sunday, too. At that time, we drained the basin, mopped the floor and tried to clean what looked like drains on the left and right basin of the dishwasher, where the door meets the basin. I let it sit overnight with vinegar and ran it the following morning and it's been fine until today. Any ideas? Thank you. Joseph Vomero
If you let it sit with vinegar and it worked after for a while that tells me it may be plugged up with grease. Might be worth while trying to clean it out with Drain O a drain cleaner. Make sure its washed clean after. Grease and dirt builds up after a while in all machines. If vinegar works might be worth cleaning more often.

If you have a disposal make sure it is clear. You can put some icecubes in it to clean the blades and run some water through to make sure the drain is clear. If the dishwasher will still not pump out all the water check the drain line from the dishwasher to the sink drain for obstructions. If the drain is you will have to check the pump for obstructions. Sometimes glass, popcorn, toothpicks etc.... can get in the pump and prevent it from pumping out. If the pump is clear, then you will need a new pump. Good luck to you.

SOURCE: water leaking onto the floor
1. If the water is going onto the floor during the drain cycle there is either a hole in the hose or it is completely loose from the DW or a hole in the drain assembly under the sink but if that were the case you would have water under the sink also.
2. If it during the wash or rinse cycle then the seals are not sealing (door is not closed all the way or seals are bad) or the float at the right front of the DW is stuck allowing the DW to overfill with water.(you need to open the door and pull the float up and out as you do so push it up and down and listen for a clicking sound.(which indicates it is making contact with the fill solenoid)..if you here the clicking and the float is full of gunk (old soap and such) clean it out and replace it and run it through a cycle and monitor the DW to see if the fill cycle shuts off before the water reaches the overflow point.
3. the only other option is a possible rust through on the DW and or the drain and motor mount in the center of the DW where the food particles and water are drained...is loose and leaking or rusted through...(how old is the DW).
4. Also check to see there are no large particles around the door seal to prevent complete closure and sealing of the door seal. As well as the door latching properly (when closed can the door be moved or pulled open)?

The drain runs from the dishwasher into either the side of your garbage disposal, or directly into your sink drain. If it is running to your disposal, pull the hose and make sure that the plug in the disposal (where the hose connects) is knocked out. Some have been known to install them without removing the plug. Either way, pull the hose loose and you can use a compressor to blow through it. If the air comes back through the dishwasher, then you are probably blocked in the main drain.
