The handle has become loose but I don't see any allen screws to tighten. The owners manual and installation guide don't offer any help.
THIS IS THE SOLUTION!
I was having the same problem with my Monogram dishwasher and oven.
Here's what to do.
You must fully remove the handle from the appliance.
Down the barrel of the standoff is a hex screw that, when tightened with an allen wrench, will draw the standoff tight to the handle again.
There is no need to remove the end caps.
The solution from davidburroug is the one. The local appliance repair store told me I would have to buy a new handle! Thank goodness this solution appeared before I went to the expense.
Agree, this procedure works to tighten the main post to the door. What about the handle to the post? Again no allen screws present, but it apprears each end of the handle has a cap on it. How do you remove those caps to [hopefully] gain access to the bolt to tighten.
Im am going to try Solution 4, I was wondering about the two screws near the door latch. You neeed to get inside the front cover to tighten the standoffs down. What a crapy design..... it sounds like everyone has the same issue I do. GE sould change this design, and have a recall. Pisses me off............
You need to remove the front panel to tighten the handle mounting bolts from the inside. Open the dishwasher door and remove the phillips head screws from the inside of the front panel. The two phillips nearest the door latch only need to be loosened, not completely removed.

The post holding the handle to the door is tight. The handle is loose from the posts. How do you get the end caps off to access what I suspect are set screws?
Same problem.
same problem. can't figure out how to tighten the handle to the post.
My problem is that while the handle is properly tightened to the short posts (called standoffs?), the posts themselves are coming loose from the dishwasher door. Do I need to remove the entire inside panel of the door to get at these screws, or do I just remove or loosen the two large phillips-screws nearest the latch?
Thanks!

There is no way to remove the inside panel by just removing two phillips head screws. I actually had to remove all and the entire guts were falling out all over. I had to put inside panel back on and am still without handle or any way to put handle back on. I hate G.E. what a mess! Oh Yeah, I have the ZBD6880 Model.
