I have my dometic Rooftop ac unit. The heatstrip/fan run perfectly but when I turn on the ac...the fan runs good but when the compressor kicks on it just hums.

The compressor coming on does make a slight "humming" sound which is normal. Is the unit cooling properly? Do you think it is louder than before?

Turning on heater the AC unit kicks on. When using AC it won't turn off, just runs and runs and runs. Would this be an issue with the thermostat?

find where the thermostat bulb is located
if it is the ceiling or unit , it requires the unit to fill to the roof with cold air before it turns off
as most rv units are not insulated , the unit seldom fills with cold air enough to turn it off
I would get an accredited ac shop to check it out

Relay (?) sticking Dometic RV rooftop AC

Go up on the roof of the unit and remove the AC Shroud. With the unit running, see if you can pinpoint where the sound is coming from. The only thing on the entire AC that would make that much of a vibration would be the fan motor. Not sure what would cause the fan motor to do this. The compressor may do that but only if the windings are bad and then it would not be cooling.
