Did you leave untreated fuel in it when you stored it, if so it most likely is gummy deposits in the carburetor.

The carb might need a thorough cleaning---remove and disassemble---clean all parts in solvent.

Wont start

I would check your fuel first. Replace fresh fuel, check fuel filter if equipped, check fuel line to not be clogged. When trying to start make sure fuel is getting to carb. If after checking all the above, it still doesn't start, I would check the spark. Make sure you are getting a spark, clean and or replace spark plug. Best of luck.

Earthquake tiller viper 43cc engine will not start

I have the same issue, I thought it was the carburetor so I cleaned it and put it back together, same issue, I put a new carburetor on it same issue, has great spark, if I spray carb cleaner into it, it will start and run for a few seconds even throttle up, but then it dies, and will not start again without carb cleaner spray, and fuel is fresh and properly mixed, very confusing indeed.

The tiller starts but then immediately stalls after a few seconds. I have cleaned the air filter and changed the gas without any benefit. the tiller has only been used a few times

me too...does your engine get abnormally hot? My F-I-L says mine's a bad carburetor. $60 replacement + shipping. I may give it a try...sad though...I don't think I have more than 3 hours run time on this stupid thing. (MC43)
