You must connect up the TV to the SKY box, via Audio Visual cables too, in order to watch, recorded programs. You need to hook, up, Component, HDMI, or Composite, You select it by an EXTERNAL channel.
Connect the cable running from the wall into the "In" port on the Sky Box HD receiver. This cable brings in the signal to your receiver. Make sure the cable is securely fastened to the receiver, otherwise you might experience image and audio issues.
Attach an HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the Sky Box HDTV receiver. The HDMI is a single cable that provides both HD audio and video signals.
Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into an available HDMI port on the HDTV.
Power on the HDTV and the Sky Box HDTV receiver. Press the "HDMI" button on the TV's remote control. This will display the cable contents of the HD receiver onto the television.

WHAT SKY BOX CAN I USE WITH A KV-28LS35U SONY IN SPAIN

Your TV has a SCART socket. So you can use anything from a plain "receive only" Sky box through to the recording HD boxes. As long as the box also has a SCART socket then the TV and box can be connected.

If you take a box abroad with you to leave there permanently then you'll need to think about what kind of contract (if any) you want. A Sky box without a viewing card will let you watch a broadly similar range of channels to Freeview in the UK. There's a useful comparison guide here: http://www.ukfree.tv/allchannels.php

Used Sky boxes are available cheap from Gum and the Facebook selling pages, or have a look in your local classifieds.

If you buy a recorder box, remember that the recording and Live Pause features are only available with a Sky subscription. They don't work with an expired viewing card or no viewing card at all. If you think you'd like to record programmes while abroad then consider a Freesat PVR instead. It will cost more in the short term, but you will have the same kind of functions as a Sky recorder box.

One other option is TV via the net. There's a device called Slingbox. It uses the internet to port your home's Sky box signal to you somewhere else in the world. You don't bother with a second Sky box, just add a Slingbox digitiser to the home Sky box and connect it to your internet service. In Spain, you have a Slingbox receiver connected to the internet and your TV. What you've then got is control of the UK Sky box, and those signals sent to you in Spain via a web connection. You operate the Sky box in the same way you would at home. The difference is that the TV is 1500 miles away.

Slingbox relies on you having a decent internet service in Spain. That might not be practical, or possible, or even desirable. But if you want to have your full Sky package in a second location without forking out for a whole year's subscription then it is one solution that wiorks.

Skycom pin help

Good day Mrs. Thomas
If you have never changed your PIN before and you are trying to find it, your default PIN which is issued to you when you join Sky, is the last four digits of your Sky viewing card number.

Hi I just bought a Wharfedale DTR250 twin tuner HDD. How can I connect it up to be able to record sky programmes? On my old VCR all I did was set the VCR to EL1 and the selected Sky programmes recorded OK....

My solution was to return item to Argos, got my money back and will now go ahead and order a Sky Plus Box. Apparently these type of Recorder will not record Sky programs!!
