Well, The problem can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the hp speed up tool http://www.speeduphp.com/ to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

Hi.

This laptop has SATA 2.5 hard drive. A common upgrade for this laptop is a 250GB or 500GB disk.

If the computer is slow, the part to upgrade is not the disk but more commonly the RAM.

This laptop mounted 1GB RAM that must be upgraded to 2 GB. You will need to install two 1 GB DDR II-SDRAM (667MHz) memory sticks.

See also my article here:My laptop is running too slow.

Regards.

Hi!! i have a hp 530 laptop with the following spceification intel core(tm) duo cpu ,t2400 @1.83ghz, 987 mhz,504 mb of ram. I need to know what is best possible upgradation for my laptop and i need to...

To improve performance, increase the RAM from 512Mb to 1Gb or 2Gb.
The graphics card is part of the motherboard and therefore cannot be upgraded, BUT the graphics card used shared RAM (part of the main RAM) and you most likely can increase the video RAM by configuring the video RAM from the BIOS configuration.

Hp 6220's freeze up until a little pressure is applied..

Is your hard drive installed properly? It may be that the connection pins are not making good contact.

Remove the hard drive and reinstall it. It may solve the problem.

It might possibly be the motherboard circuitry, however, if it were I would imagine that the computer would show an error message on boot-up during POST.

Were the computers dropped or somehow bumped hard?

Power on password

Using a screwdriver, You'll be able to open a cover on the bottom of the laptop and disconnect the CMOS battery which will clear the power on password. Try to find the laptops Maintenance and Service guide online if you're unsure of how to do this. Google should find it for you.

How to install win xp sp2 from cd on hp 530 laptop

1 - Place CD in the Drive
2 - Restart PC and go into Bios by pressing Del, F2 or whatever instruction the start up screen says.

3 - Go to Boot configuration and set it to Boot from CD
4 - Save and Exit
5 - Follow onscreen instructions untill you get to the Windows install screen.
6 - You may have to create a partition (Drive Letter) on your hard drive if nothing was there before, you can assign as much hard drive space as you want to this. If your not sure just use all the space available. This will be your C drive.
7 - Pick the drive you just created and install windows on it using the on screen menu. It will ask you if to format the drive, say yes and use NTFS not FAT as NTFS has more features.
8 - Just say yes to all questions asked after this point.

When windows is installed it will ask you for a CD key and to activate by going on the net, I'm afraid I can't help you with this.

Hi,? my machine has an error of loding operating system it's hp 530,it brings this informationn (no hard drive were found ,so it is not detectiting any hard dirve installed.

The most likely explanation is that your hard drive has failed. You can try removing and reseating it. Failing that, borrow one for testing or buy a new one. As a last resort, try putting the hard drive ( or even the whole laptop ) in the refrigerator overnight. Really! :) If this restores operation even temporarily you definitely have a bad hard drive.
