Any thought on installing this scanner on windows 7 - it was discontinued in 2008 & fujitsu doesn't seem to think anyone would put in on a windows 7 machine so no driver.

To connect your Fujitsu fi-5120c scanner to Windows 7 PC, you need to install the TWAIN driver for Windows 7. Please download the driver update from the link provided below:
You can try to install the program in compatibility mode. Chose Vista with service pack for your Win7. You need to right click on the installer, properties and compatibillity... Another option is to install xp mode on your windows 7. xp mode is available for free from Microsoft.
Here's what I've done. Maybe it's too late to help.
1) install the latest driver
2) restart
3) go to device manager
4) right-click on unknown device and click update driver
5) Select Let Me choose and select an imaging device
6) Click have disk and browse to c:\windows\fjmini and select fi4120c.
7) let it install the unsigned driver
8) You may have to restart after installing
9) Try opening your scanning software and then select the WIA driver for your scanner

did you use the software for it? if still it doesn't work, it could be the usb wire problem or the computer's usb port that doesn't recognise the scanner.
http://www.fujitsu.com/downloads/COMP/fcpa/scanners/windows7_bulletin.pdf looks like a waiting game for drivers. They say by the end of January they might have drivers. Just keep checking windows update and the Fujitsu site.
