The following troubleshooting steps would be helpful to fix the problem. The automatic restart can be caused by many factors.
1.Enter into BIOS set-up of PC and select the option of LOAD Default settings and reboot the computer.
2.Remove Ram and insert again after cleaning the RAM and Ram slot .
3.If possible remove the cable inside the CPU and and plug it again.
4.It may be also caused due to viruses in the operating system in that case you have to go for reinstallation or repair the operating system

Try to boot it by pressing F8 key while booting
then restore it back to earlier days
If you can't boot it to safe mode then you need to reinstall your windows using your quickrestore CD/DVD

PC boot problem

Hi Jimmy,
Does the PC load windows fully before restarting?
If it does load and then restart, then it may be a problem on the part of your hard drive.
Run a full scan of the PC with an updated anti-virus to rid off any viral attacks.Make sure the anti-virus is always updated for better performance.
If it does not load windows, try this:-
  • Restart the PC.
  • Before it loads the first page, press Ctrl,Alt and Del.This is a soft boot sequence.
  • The booting leads you to the Bios setup page.
  • Under file save changes and exit[though no changes made].
  • If problem not solved repeat the procedure again.
If the problem persists, you may have to reinstall the operating system again.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

Can i restore my compaq presario cq60 notebook to factory setting without cd ? its vista

hi.
there are two ways to completely restore settings of a computer:
1- enter Bios of your notebook (by pressing "delete" repeatedly") and select restore to manufacturer's settings.(or load from manufacture settings). THIS CAN RESTORE SETTINGS OF YOUR HARDWARE.

2- for restoring settings of Windows:
restart your notebook and before windows starts up (showing "windows starting") press F8 repeatedly.
then choose "load from last good configuration".

Avg 8 removal problem....

hi iam sharu
The recommended procedure is a time consuming one. You must download the latest version of AVG from the website, and then run it.

1) Click on the following link and download AVG to your desktop

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0

2) Double-click on the downloaded file to run it
3) AVG will present you with three options to choose from. Choose the Uninstall option to completely uninstall AVG

Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some components or reinstall the entire AVG program
Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG
Uninstall - this option removes the AVG program from your PC

4) Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer. You can then proceed to install another antivirus or install AVG again.

Windows xp logo will start to load then......

To solve this will require more information from you. The Blue screen is Windows way of telling you that it has a driver issue with a basic component, usually your video card. Did you recently make any hardware changes? If so please let me know what was changed.

When windows first boots, you can repeatedly press the F8 key until you see a menu giving you choices of windows booting. You need to select Safe Mode. Safe mode should allow you to at least boot without a blue screen. The blue screen could also be cause by a virus or other software.

Microsoft has a description of Safe mode here;
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222
but here is a quick snippet
To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
