Our sharp tv whic i bought in hongkong has recently started giving following problem
the screen goes blank while watching programmes and then comes back again after 20 seconds.the frequency of this problem is varying everyday some days it is working properly

Your TV is too far from your router. It is buffering the feed. Either upgrade the speed of your internet connection or get an extender for your router.
You have a swollen capacitors in the vertical section try to replace all the leaky capacitors, you will notice that there is a liquid leaking out in the buttom of the capacitor.It is like an oil spill.
i have the same problem. i just replace the power board because of the "green blinking" light. now, light stays green, picture comes on for a few seconds, then blank....
It might be a loose solder connection inside,try to prove it,the next time it goes blank,firmly give a whack to the back or bottom of the set,if it flashes back......sholud be a loose solder conn that a competent technician can find and repair

Most probably your antinna is not reciving TV signals properly.Try to adjust it in a right direction at a proper height, also adjust frequency of various channel of Direct TV through menu button.
