Sounds like you need to print the output from your midi in audio form to mix with the existing audio. There should be some kind of audio bounce feature. try that.

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

My problem is that I have an xr-20 an was wondering what would be the best "bang for my Buck" when it comes to a music program to make the beats transferable to CD at CD quality I'm trying to start slow...

If you are looking for a straight audio solution Audacity is free and you can do lots with it. I was looking for recording software and got Reaper myself. It is a multitrack audio and midi recording program. It is free to try out and around $70.00 for the licence. One example is if you have a midi to usb adapter you can output midi from your XR-20 through the adapter into your computer into a channel on Reaper, record it as a track and work with it after that. You can edit it as midi or you can also record the audio from the XR-20 onto a track. With VSTi there are free synths on the Internet that you can use as FX for the track and run them using the midi track that you recorded. You can also run sample players that way. Here are some useful links:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ also http://www.reaper.fm/ In case you don't understand midi or recording here is another link to a site I highly recommend:http://recordingreview.com/ ( It is listed as an attack site but I can vouch for the owner that it is absolutely not.) I downloaded the free Killer Home Recording Setting Up pdf and it is a wealth of free info. This site also has detailed explanations of Midi etc. I am a member of the forum(It is free to join as are the forums at the other sites I recommended). Joining forums is also a great way to meet users of the same gear as you. They are usually quite willing to help you as they have all been using that gear.

Have you clicked the little "monitor" icon (looks like a speaker) on the armed audio track so that it goes orange? Once on, you should see a signal on the VU meter (assuming the line in has a good signal etc). Once recorded, turn the monitor off again to listen to the track with all the others.

The mic does not record stereo anymore. when playing back a stereo works fine but when recording in stereomodus only the left channel records, the right channel seems to record silence/noise

This Mic is not a stereo Mic. If you're using a windows computer, check your sound control panel to see if the mic wasn't suddenly set to two channel device.

Recording Audio-books

The GoGear says it is compatible with Audiobooks, but only in the loosest sort of way. It has no way of natively playing them in order or keeping your place, etc. Even the GoGear's that have an Audible folder won't work well, b/c the deal between Audible and Philips fell through prior to release - LOL. Your best bet would be to open Windows Media Player, right click each audiobook track, select "Advanced Tag Editor," and manually re-enter the track number for each chapter in the order that you want them to play. Then delete the current audiobook files off the Philips, and then reload the ones that you have just edited. Good luck!

Electronic drum kit, with USB out, problem

Sounds to me like you have the midi tracks outputting to the microsoft midi mapper or wavetable synth, which is built into the sound chip in your pc, and that this is conflicting with the mobilepre sound card - midi is just data, no audio, needs to drive some kind of synth. what you want to do is disable your internal sound card thru device manager, then just use the m-audio mobile pre as the input/output sound card in ASIO mode - you'll need to monitor via the headphone jack on the mobile pre or plug speakers into the line outs on the interface.

Then do tutorial 8 (in help files) on using soft synths - INSERT>SOFTSYNTHs creates a midi track and an audio track in a track folder.

Good luck.

The dude.
