Put new drum/toner into OKI B6300 - it printed the first few good and then faded quickly to nothing. Shook toner around and put it back in and it did the same thing. Any ideas?

Trouble with Oki B6300 drum/toner cartridge replacment. Can't get back into the menu to reset the printer.

Try removing and then reinstalling. If this happens since you changed the drum and toner, then the issue would be with the defective replacement. Way to test is to reinsert the old drum and toner and if this does not happen, then you know the issue is with the new supplies

Someone shook the toner before putting it in the printer and now i have toner powder on the pages when i try to print. how do i clean it out?

Pull the drum and toner cartridge out and spray inside of printer with canned air. Make sure you keep the can upright when spraying. Uncllip toner from drum and spray the area on the drum where the toner clips on. Move the corona cleaner from one side of the drum to the other a couple times, reseat toner in drum, put cartridge back in printer and print a few pages to remove toner that may have settled after spraying.

OKI B6300 Drum problem

Hello, com_jedi. I would suggest you contact the OKI Customer Support line in order to address this issue. The phone number is 1-800-654-3282 (800-OKIDATA). For your model unit you would hit options 1 then 4 to get to mono support.

It is possible that you purchased a defective consumable and OKI warranties them for 90 after the date of purchase. If this is a new drum/toner it may need to be replaced to determine if it was a bad chip in the cartridge or if there is some other issue with the unit that is causing the error.

It is also possible there is a misalignment with the sensor that is located under the drum unit. A support tech can walk you through the troublehshooting as it would be a bit difficult to do here.

I hope this helps!

Black text or black print is faded in a 2" vide area

Although the drum life is at 65% it could still have a problem. It could be that the end of the drum is starved of toner or there is lumpy toner in the drum. Take out the black drum and give it a good shake then a gentle one to level the toner out and refit. Had the same with a canon unit 2 weeks ago. If still no good then a new drum is required. I bet you are using recycled drums!!

Faded print on left hand side of paper

This type of printing defect is normally caused by 1 of a few problems - the easier one first:

1. Toner cartridges sometimes do not have the toner evenly distributed - close the toner cartridge and inspect the hopper right below it for even distribution of toner.

The harder ones:

2. This type of defect can also be caused by dirty charging section - for the drum to pick up the toner it must be charged electrically prior to exposure - if the charge grid is not clean then it will not give the drum an even charge - not sure were this is in this printer yet - looks like it comes as part of the drum kit so this should not be causing this issue.

3. The last and most difficult to check is paper alignment with the drum - is the paper contacting the drum evenly - look for possible problems in the paper path with the drum unit removed - look for something uneven around the area were the paper contacts the drum

OKI 5600 - Can you do a 'clean'?

Here's the 'secret' sevice manual: http://www.feedroller.com/Store/Service%20Manual/50_53_5600.PDF
I would also (very carefully) check for torn paper around the rollers of the imaging drum that might be rubbing the area.
