Blu Ray player recognizes and plays all kind of disks except br. Tried several formats but problem insists. Also tried to update my device drivers but all tools find my drivers updated.

Install Cyberlink PowerDVD software and follow the below steps:
To update the Cyberlink PowerDVD software:

Connect to the Internet.
Open the Cyberlink Power DVD application.
Click the arrow in the upper left hand corner of the window next to Cyberlink PowerDVD.
Click on Update Now
Follow the prompts to install the update.

This is will take care of the issue

Can you burn blu ray with the acer aspire 6920g or do i have to buy external blu ray drive

The Matshita BD-CMB UJ-120 optical drive that comes with the notebook cannot burn blu-ray, only play them. It can burn DVDs.

Our Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S300 will play older Blu Ray disks but not two newly released blu-Ray disks. It just keeps "Loading" on the screen but never finishes.

Try to update the firmware on the player by going to this website http://www.blu-ray.com/firmware/firmware.php?id=10 the newest version is 5.20 fixes alot of problems including playback issues with some BD movies and safe the file into a flash drive and plug it in on the back USB port, go to menu/firmware update run the update.

Acer aspire 6920 18.4 inch screen! I cant get blue ray dvds

According to the ACER Aspire 6920 specs, it does not have a Blue-ray player only DVD CD R/W drive. Therefore it cannot play blue-ray movie disks.
The specs of the DVD drive are as follows :-
Optical Storage

Type DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM - Integrated
CD / DVD read speed 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 6x (DVD±R DL)
CD / DVD write speed 16x (CD) / 8x (DVD±R) / 4x (DVD±R DL)
CD / DVD rewrite speed 16x (CD) / 6x (DVD-RW) / 8x (DVD+RW) / 5x (DVD-RAM)

Need to upgrade firmware blu-ray

If you have loaded Nero software for writing then you need to enter a seperate Sr. No. to make the Blue-ray operational.......sodeep. Otherwise install Nero Ver 8 or later.

Just do recovery your notebook. try to run the acer Arcade without upgrade it. I also have some problem when I upgrade/ update my Acer Arcade to latest Version. I'm using Aspire 6920G.
