GO 720 GPS Receiver: Haven't used my 720 for 6 months, have had it plug...

Haven't used my 720 for 6 months have had it plugged into computer usb for 3 hours ... Green light is on but will not switch on. Screen remains blank.

It will do that, diconnect your unit and try switching it on, have you downloaded tomtom home 2 to your computer? as you need this to manage your unit.

I have a tom tom xL live. It suddenly stopped working 7 days ago.I've charged it fully overnight.it still won't start up.im puzzled. I've had a tom tom previously and it just froze on the screen. So im not happy with tom tom products so far. Could someone please give me some help.

How to recharge my tom tom online

By online, I'm assuming you mean connected to your computer (via the USB port).
Just power on your GPS, then connect your GPS to your computer, using the USB port, and decline the CONNECT to Computer prompt. The GPS will then still be plugged into the USB port and the battery will be charged.

How to update tomtom 720

Hi
if you go to tomtom's website and plug in the data cable you will be able to update it, there is a fee for updates not sure the exact cost. Here is the link http://www.tomtom.com/page/mapupdateservice

After 6 months inactivity, when i turn on the 765t, it only blinks on and off - unable to get unit to turn on - i have unit plugged in to the computer with the usb cable

Try taking the battery out and replacing it a few swconds later, power up the unit and you might see a difference.

My computer will not acknowledge my tomtom go 720 is plugged in to usb connector power light is on in charging cradle but computer says not connected

I had the same problem. I tried uninstalling software and re-installing it. That did not help. I reset my TomTom Go 720 with the reset button on the bottom of the unit. The computer then recognized my TomTom.

Tomtom 720 is not recharging and does not give the options when on home base

I would suspect a collapsed battery if it does not charge on its base.
Replace the battery, the life should be 2 years if used correctly. This means not plugging it to DC car power when starting engine. battery will collapse withing 6-12 months if you do

Xp pro, no driver installed for this device.

Tomtom use the generic usb drivers on XP. Try resetting the tomtom before plugging into your pc and also taking out any SD card that may be in the tomtom
