You need to digitize the video and audio from your camcorder via a link to a computer or another camcorder. this is via an input into the computer where you plug the yellow video lead and the black and red audio leads into the connection box to digitize the sound and video. You will need to capture in real time and have enough space on your hard drive to fit the video.

Can DVD DISKS BE COPIED FROM VHS TAPES ON A dual; DECK MACHINE?

There are machines made just for that task such as the Magnavox DVD recorder. There is a VHS tape deck on one side and a DVD recorder on the other side. You can copy a VHS tape to a DVD and copy a DVD onto a VHS tape as well

Will this model record from the vhs tape to the dvd?

You don't state the manufacturer or model number in your question, thus we cannot answer. I will say that many do, but there is a caveat. If the the VHS tape is a commercially made movie, chances are it has copy protection on it. Most machines will sense this copy protection and will refuse to copy the protected VHS tape to DVD. This was done to prevent piracy. Home recorded tapes and non-protected tapes will usually work ok. Do not confuse write protection with copy protection however. Write protection is merely the tab on the tape that prevents re-recording of the tape. Copy protection is recorded right onto the tape itself and is read by the machine during playback.

Daewoo DVD-T "copy not possible - this media cannot be copied" when trying to copy from VHS (tape is not copy protected) to blank DVD-R and +R media. Same problem with all DVDs and VHS tapes

You can only copy non-commercial VHS tapes that you have recorded yourself to DVD. You can\'t make copies of most commercially made VHS movies due to copy-protection.

Can I copy a vsh tape to a dvd with this one player

You can't. It's designed to copy DVD to tape. You might want to invest in a little device: Audio Video USB adapter convert VHS tape to PC, CD, DVD. About $20.00 or less.

I cannot copy commercially recorded VHS tapes to DVD. Msg comes up saying it is COPY PROTECTED. Heard that if for personal use only I am permitted to copy tapes. Any way around this?

No,this can be done only copyright materials through the VHS box converter run through a computer with a programs call copy decoders programs.Than u can copy VHS copy protected matrials.Than u reburn it back to DVD disc.So this require alot of work, time and money so not worth it to copy commercially VHS tapes to DVD Disc.

In February, someone asked: "When

What are the tapes that you are trying to copy? are there genuine copies of films? YES THEY COULD BE COPY PROTECTED how they do that? simple they record the tape with the most minimum srength of signal, if you try to copy it you lose signal strength trough the copy process than the video looks a bit scrambled/discoloured and the sound is bad, if it's the case you could buy a video signal booster (if still available in stores) than you have to copy with a VCR that is separated from the DVD recorder so that you can install the booster from the output of the VCR to the input of the DVD recorder.

Hope it helps!

Magnavox H2160MW9 VHS tape "recording not allowed" to hard drive

RIAA has prodded the electronics manufacturers into putting copy protection into their recorders. You are allowed one copy, I believe, and you will be able to make it to a DVD-R in VR mode. VR mode protects (how? dunno) the recording from being copied a second time. DVD-RAM and DVD-R (maybe -RW) in VR mode should allow you to make your copy.
