You don't need to Unlock your iPod Touch

Unlocking means that you can use the SIM-Card from every phone carrier (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon...) which you don't need.

connect your ipod to itunes and then click on your ipod and then click on update. and then your ipod should be good ad new.

plug it into your computer and start itunes and reset the ipod.

You cannot use the iPod touch with Windows Media Player, you can only use the iPod touch with iTunes. You need to download iTunes and when you install iTunes make sure it is set to automatically search your computer for music. iTunes will find all of your Windows Media Player songs, convert them for use on the iPod and then you can synchronize your iPod with the iTunes software.

If another ipod works on the ihome, your ipod has a prob.
If your ipod works on another ihome, the ihome has a prob.

Do you have the option of reformatting the ipod with out the code?
If you can, try and reformat the ipod through itunes.
