I just ordered a IOGear 12-in-1 Pocket Card Reader/Writer GFR209. I want to upload some songs from my PC and download it to my LG Chocolate Touch phone. Will that work?

Yes, that will work. Copy songs to your microSD card using the card reader/writer then return the memory back to your phone and play the songs directly from microSD.

Actually, the memory card slot that you have in your laptop is not for storage devices but for your computer RAM. If you would like to transfer pictures from your digital camera, you have 2 options.
I assume that when you bought your digital camera, it comes with a USB connector. Use that USB connector to connect your camera to your laptop for your to be able to transfer pictures.
Buy a memory card reader, take out the memory card from your digital camera and put in on the memory card reader then connect it to your computer via USB. Once connected, you can now transfer pictures from your camera's memory card to your computer.
You can remove the memory stick from the camera, look what model memory stick it is, then go to radioshack or search online (such as amazon) for a usb converter for your model memory stick. usually they are cheap between 5-10 dollars and you wont have to plug your camera directly into the computer.

Try using a usb card reader.. just put your sd card in appropriate card reader. and insert that card reader in your pc transfer your file in your sd card.. and install in your mobile.. have fun
Not sure if this will help, but after I used a reader/writer, I could no longer see the pics that were on my memory card unless I had it in the camera. A reader/writer reformats, so you will need to reformat the memory card to upload to your pc.
