Compaq Presario CQ50-110US...blank screen, no display

I assume that your laptop's display has been damaged. Are you sure that other things are working normally? If other components are working, then problem will be with the display unit. Try to repair or replace with new one.

Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if picture okay, the inverter board just below the LCD is the most likely cause, or the backlight behind the display is gone. However if both show the same symptom it is the video graphics card.

your lcd maybe damaged.

no photos of the screen presented.
so all i can do is guess what it looks like,
its so old HP has no info on it. legacy PC, called retired.
i guess 10 years old

so one side is dead, black screen right?
and if you shine flash light on the black side, is there data there or not?????????????????
the v3000 is a CCLF back lamps (edge)
and last 20,000 hours max, (very very short life)
so when one side fails. it goes black
the bulb does or its inverter, supply does.
all do this everyone,
all go dim
then blink
then die, or are random starting.
just like a florecent light in say your garage, same deal. same gas tube.

use the flash light, see its not really BLANK IS IT
only the black lamp quit.

in the year 2010 most of these ended and are now all LED
ending all this pain.

1. try reloading ur OS (Windows)

2. check ur RAM

Try this instead of tearing the entire laptop apart....

look at your function keys (F4 F7) from what i can see on the picture but it will somehow resemble an lcd screen. Try to push the Fn button along with the F-button that has the "lcd" picture at the same time. If this does not work pushing it once try to push it twice. After each time release both buttons and wait a couple seconds after each attempt and see if this fixes the problem

remove the battery and try to start the machine om AC power only
