Are the speakers build into the monitor or attached separately? Not trying to be funny, but to cover all of the basics, make sure that the volume fader is unmuted and turned up, make sure that the web page you are viewing has the volume fader turned up as well. Next check to make sure that you have the correct driver for the controller that you have. Go to your control panel, click on "Hardware and Sound" and among the selections, choose "Manage Audio Devices" once you click it, a little window should pop up and would show the sound device on your computer usually the default is "Speakers/Headphones". It should show you a "check" on the device meaning it is enabled so that you should be able to hear sounds on your computer. if it doesnt show you a tick mark (usually) or if it shows you in "red color" it might be disabled and thats the reason why you dont hear anything on ur pc. if that's the case, simply "right click" the device and it will give you option to "enable" it. Choose enable, and make sure to click "OK" otherwise it wont take effect. try playing any audio on your pc again. If it did not resolve your issue, then maybe it must be some sound card issue which is another story.try doing this one first.
1: check the speaker wire. it should connect to a green port at the back of the computer. 2. In control panel open realtek audio device manager. it will tell you where its connected 3. try to configure the speaker from audio device manager on the system tray volume icon still doesnt work then uninstall the driver for sound card from device manger restart the computer

Might be that the chip is bad, make sure that nothing is muted in your volume control also check that digital doesnt have a check on it. some times when digital has a check it wont let you hear anything.
If you are using 4 speakers , click control panel and right click to open sound manager, click speakers configurations and hit the 4 channels . This might be solved. Check also your volume and adjust. Is your DVD or CD rom working well ? If not ,repair and reinstall driver.
