Automatic watches will generally run for 2-3 days before the spring is fully unwound, so you are likely to have bought the watch in the unwound condition.

It can be wound by gently shaking the watch from side to side (for about 100-200 times). This should give it sufficent engergy to operate and thereafter normal use will keep it wound up.

If it stops working when the watch is rotated out of the face up position, then it may be that the watch is faulty. (If the watch has been dropped in transit, it may have been damaged).

If normal operation is not achieved, then send it back to get it repaired under warranty.

I have had my Grand Carrera for 7 months and I don't always wear it every day. Recently, I noticed the hands quit moving, usually a light shake would restart them. There is also a noise when I move the...

This sounds to me as the Oscillating weight is getting loose and touching the movement. There could be a loose screw as well. That's why your watch is stopping (not enough power to fully auto-wind the spring). There is nothing you can do, I'm afraid, but to show watch to the watchmaker for proper inspection. The longer you'll wear it as it is - the more damage will be done.

My watch stops very often its tag heuer grand carrera calibre 17 rs2 automatic one what do i need to do for continuous running of my watch

It rather depends what you mean by "very often".

An automatic watch will run for 2-3 days before stoping if it is not used.

These watches thrive on being used and are best used every day.

It could be that your watch needs cleaning (I had one that was like that when I bought it and I had it cleaned and it ran for years after that).

Hi, My TAG has been in and out of service three times, the hands came off, the winding mechanism stopped working and the tertiary timing hand has come away this week. I wear it for work [in an office]...

I have this same exact watch with the same problem. In November of this year, my watch just stopped with an inability to autowind itself. I'm a little mad because I have babied this watch, while only wearing it on special occasions (10x). What's the problem?

I have a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera. It worked perfectly for a year. But now, it doesnt work. When I shake the watch, it starts and then stops again after few minutes. I was told to wind it. But I dont know...

If your watch is "automatic" then would I be right in thinking you took it off for a few days and it stopped?

If this is the case (since most of the Carrera range are automatic, then the spring will have run down and needs re-winding.

You were correct in thinking that shaking it will re- start it but to keep it going you need to shake it gently from side to side for some time. (One supplier quoted 500 times!) be patient and keep wearing it.

I have a TAG HEUER Grand Carrera and the second has stopped

Are you aware that these are automatic watches and need to be moved to keep the watch going, kinetic energy winds up the movement which allows it to keep going, if it is left off your wrist and in a drawer or sat stationary it will stop. Shake it violently (without dropping it) and it will restart.

Carrera automatic. stops with 8 hours of non wearing

Hi

I hate to be blunt be if it stops after 8 hours of wear, it may need a service! Most watches (particularly automatics which winds constitantly, when being worn).

Take it to your local watchmaker for a assessment? If it's less then 2 years old take it back to your place of purchase with reciepts as most swatch group (rado, longines, and tag etc) have a 2 year international g/t (that what we have here in australia and way, please consult your warranty card for verification!)

Tag heuer carrera automatic wv211a

Your watch is a automatic. All automatics need to wind-up before being worn at first , or if not worn all the time. Automatics will work with-out being wound ,but will not keep time. Wind your watch at least 50 turns (using the crown) or shake about 150 times , and then try it . Automatics need that back-up power to insure it's accuracy.
