SOURCE: Lower oven not heating up properly

Go to Lakeland and buy the oven thermometer and the oven cleaner - the one that you brush on. Clean the thermostat sensor located at the top right rear of the oven - it should be bright chrome in colour. Ne need to take it out just brush the cleaner on to remove all the garbage on it, it may take several coats being careful not to damage the thin wire that comes from it. Once this is clean run the oven with the Lakeland thermometer and see how far it is out. Even at 20 degrees this may be acceptable to you as you can make allowances when using it. At least you will know what is going on to make an informed decision of whether of not to buy a new thermostat.

I have GE model#JKP45WOP2WG double oven wall unit. Lower oven isn't heating up properly. Bottom of lower oven doesn't seem as hot as the top of the oven... replaced oven sensor, not

Most double wall ovens are technically two separate oven boxes. The lower oven box has its bake, boil elements, high limit thermostat and ofcourse its own oven sensor. If the lower oven box boil is working good and less heat on bake feature may suggest that the bake element is burned out and only getting preheated with boil element. Just a suggestion here

Early 1960's Frigidaire 24" Double wall oven not heating

Hello Chris Hammond, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have provided it sounds like a potential problem with your connector for your element within your Frigidaire wall oven. I would recommend reaching out to a professional technician for proper diagnosis repair to help avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Best of luck! -Matt

The heating element becomes red hot,but the food doesn't appear to cook in an appropriate time os fashion. Any answers or suggestions

The top of whatever food you're cooking should be in the center of the oven for the most effective cooking. Do you have the oven set on bake or broil? Broil is a direct heat method and if the food is on the lower shelf and the oven is set on broil, the food is not getting enough heat to cook it properly. Baking heats the lower element and the heat rises to surround the food. Broiling heats the top element and since heat rises, it is not getting down to the food to surround it and cook it.

My oven still doesnt work after replacing heating element

it could either be a hot spot in the element where it can no longer pass all the current needed for proper operation in heating(look for a discolored spot on it,it may be whitish and dimpled from heat) or secondly,it could be the oven thermocouple located on the inside top of the oven cavity

The oven will not completely heat

Try a few drops of vegetable oil on the lower pan of the oven, and turn it on. If you do not get smoke during pre-heat, chances are your lower element is not working properly. If you DO get copious amounts of smoke off the pan, the problem could be with the temperature sensor.

If your lower element is not functioning, and if your broil function works just fine, the problem may be isolated to the relay control board. (relay K4 controls half of the 240V required to run the Bake element correctly)

Oven will not heat until you turn the heat up to 400 degrees

Your "Bake" element may not be working properly. It's the one in the bottom of the oven. Place a couple drops of vegetable oil on the bottom pan, and turn the oven on. During pre-heat, you should start to see those oil drops generate some smoke, IF the lower element is working properly. If it isn't - voila'.!! Problem is with the lower element / associated circuit.
