Gigabyte Motherboard doesnt work w. HP2100 printer

i read from your information and picture about your motherboard type..i think yours is not under warranty from factory anymore (GIGABYTE)

for additional information your mainboard (MB) is using old type of intel chip set (Intel 865 series) and only support intel processor type Pentium 4 with 478 pin with 533 MHz bus processor..

talking about warranty from factory GIGABYTE only give 3 years warranty only for MB with minimum chipset intel ICH 7 and up..that's mean MB must be support processor minimum 775 pin and 1155 pin or support intel Pentium D,Dual Core,Core2Duo or Core i series...

The motherboard can support a 2x2 (4 pin) or 4x2 (8-pin) connector. The motherboard employs a foolproof design, as the socket on the motherboard is keyed to prevent you from installing the 2x2 in any position other than the correct one. The image below was extracted from page 24 of the manual.....you plug should be in pins 3,4,7,and 8.

On the LaserJet 2100, press the Go and Stop buttons together, then let go, and the configuration page will print out. (You may have to hold them down for a couple of seconds.)

have you downloaded that driver and tried to install it .....please download that one only and install it will work .....or else you can install the printer from the control panel only open printer and faxes add printer ...>local printer ...>select the port ...> select the hp and hp laserjet 1100 ..>next

Could be a few things. I would check the transfer roller first it is the roller that sits under the toner cart. This roll should be spring loaded. Press down on each end, it should move down and come back up. If someone removed this roll the springs may be missing or out of place.

You have to purchase a Parallel to USB printer cable.

I ended up fixing this problem myself.

I needed to set the printing resolution in the HP printing dialog box to 1200 x 1200 dpi as the HP2100 can print at this resolution.

Select: Print/Properties/Advanced/Graphics. Then set the printquality to 1200 x 1200 dpi.

Its tray spring to be check, whether they are inclined or not. Sometime it does not lift the tray up to catch paper by printer. I often get the problem and can be solved easily.
