My lexmark x4650 will not print a document when sent direct fromt he computer. I can use the copier so I wonder if the wireless connection could be the problem?

Have you installed the printer drivers? Is the printer power turned on before plugging the USB cable into the computer? You could have a bad cable. Try a different cable.
How is your printer connected to your computer, wireless or hardwired with a USB cable? If wireless, check the status of the WiFi light on the printer (green = connected to a network, orange = not connected to a network). Try to turn off/on your printer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. This article in the Lexmark website might also help resolve your scan problem: No Communications Error When Trying to Print or Scan.
When you installed your printer, you had to install the software on your PC. So go to your PC's start menu, go to Programs, select Lexmark software, select Tools and then select Wifi Configuration Utility. It will open a window which will give you step by step instruction on re-configuring your wifi settings. When you are doing this, make sure your printer is connected to your PC via the USB cable.
It seems that the driver and software has incompatibility issues with your computer's Windows version or Windows might have downloaded and installed an update that caused this problem. I suggest first to visit Lexmark x4650 support & downloads website to download and install appropriate drivers by selecting your windows version (XP, Vista or 7). Remember to uninstall existing software & driver first. If problem persists, contact your printer's manufacturer for assistance.
Have you tried restarting your PC? Once you do this, unplug your printer power cord for a few minutes, uninstall your printer from your computer and reinstall the software. Then plug your power cord back into your printer and try printing your document once more.
Hope this solves your problem. Best wishes, Graemevm
Hi, I believe this is controlled in the software part of the printer. Check the Lexmark Productivity Studio under settings. There should be an option that says enable instructions page for 2 side printing.
Your firewall for the wireless is blocking the port. Go into your firewall settings and add the port from the printer to bypass the router. What operating system do you have? It should be in Control Panel under Security Center.
Let me know.

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
