The felt strips were not put in on the Newer T 630/T640 and up series as they were causing scoring on the fusers. They would act like sand paper and score it beyond use. There are no more which is a great thing.

The NVRAM settings on the T642 could have been corrupted. You can try to restore the factory defaults by following the instructions in this article http://bit.ly/dn3wIC If that does not fix the problem you are probably looking at replacing maybe the System Board.

that is referring to a jam under the toner cartridge..are you using genuine lexmark toners??

The error 201 means exactly what you are getting;
a paper jam between the printer input and exit sensors.

It is common on these printers for toner to build up on the fuser input guide and eventually gets so big as to catch on the leading edge of the paper,

you will need to scrape the encrusted toner off of the guide.

If the device has done a large volume of printing (say over 100k) it may be a faulty fuser assembly.

Chip on toner is bad, try puting in old one to reset and switch it with new one, sometimes turning off and on several times helps.

You need to download the Postscript drivers from Lexmark site.
