My HP psc 1410 will print, but will not scan. Unable to find disc to re-install. What can I do?

While scanning, scan stopped part way through 3rd page, error message said the function was not available or was being used by another programme; Restarting the computer & trying again gives same error...

Unable to proceed scan documents after 2/3 pages in - HP PSC 1410 All-in-One which i intend to save in pdf file.

Yes, either the lamp or photo sensors in the scan assembly. You need a torx driver to remove the top and back covers and check that all ribbon cables are plugged in fully, sometimes a poor connection can cause that problem.

A printer scans only when the full feature driver is installed. Unit will print normally with the help of inbult windows print driver. However to scan using the unit, a supporting software is required.

To resolve youe issue, please downlaod and install the full feature driver software from the following HP web link:

You MUST obtain the VISTA version of that CD (if it isnt a vista driver CD) or you may go to the HP website and download a VISTA driver from there

If you use XP before, you need to install Vista software/drivers? I suggest you uninstall all existing software/driver for this printer first before you install the Vista software/drivers.

I lost the orginal disk software for HP PSC 1410 All-in-one how do i get free download for it to work again.

WHEN I AM TRYING TO PRINT MSG APPEARS NO PRINTER FOUND AS FAR I AM AWARE MY PRINTER IS CONNECTED TO DESKTOP AND MY PRINTER MAKE IS HP PSC 1410..WONDER IF U CAN HELP ME TO SORT THIS OUT AS I AM UNABLE TO PRINT.

Please make a stand alone copy from the unit. If the unit does not copy properly, then the scanner blub is damaged and the unit required a replacement.
