Why does the light flicker when door is opened. The freezer seems to be working at this time.

It could be the button door switch that controls the light, or that a florescent lamp is being used in the cold fridge,

The power light is faint and flickering on and off

These power lights are usually of the neon lamp type, and they typically do not last a long time, especially when they are powered on 24/7. They typically fail by flickering at first, then, eventually, they just go out. If you feel confident as a "do it yourselfer", you can often replace this lamp for only a few bucks, but it does require disassembly of the control unit. Otherwise, I'd just leave it alone. If you're concerned about food loss, I'd invest in a freezer alarm. The lamp has no bearing on the operation of the compressor unit. On, flickering or out completely, the freezer will still operate normally.

Leak from freezer into refridgerator, near the back.

You did not mention what Model and Make it is. That could change a fix.

Just a generic fix, assuming the unit its not too new, the first thing you want to do is turn the water off that is feeding your ice maker. Behind the refer on the wall. Be careful to not kink the water pipe pulling out and putting back the refer during your repair.

If stopping the leak into the refer was accomplished by turning off the water, now your confronted with how old is the refer and is it worth digging around and finding the actual leak. If the leak is in the wall of the refer (not the house wall), basically, just forget it, live with it and buy some ice trays. If you want the ice and it is really old, you may want to take this opportunity to replace the unit.

This would be my first assessment, not knowing age, make and model number. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful.

kindly,

Jim

Stuck on ff setting

Hello Ailla, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Could the error code possibly be "OFF"? If so, there is a possibility that the temperature control is in the OFF position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small way. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.

Best regards!

Of error code

Good Afternoon Jason, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Why is the power light flickering on my Emerson 3.5 cu. Ft. Freezer chest model CF450

Just noticed your question from 2012 - my answer is probably irrelevant by now, but here goes. The power on light is of the neon lamp type, and they will often fail after a year or so, typically by flickering, then getting dimmer and eventually going out. If you feel confident, you can replace this lamp for only a few bucks, but it does require removal and disassembly of the control unit. It would probably cost more than the freezer is worth to have an appliance tech do this. The lamp has no bearing on the compressor function; the freezer will continue to work with or without the lamp. If you're concerned about food loss, you might consider investing 25 or 30 bucks in a freezer alarm. Hope this helps.

Light doesn't work

First check the lamp; make sure it isn't loose in the holder, check the filament is still complete. Next check the light switch has power and is closing with the door opening. If no power, check wiring/ connection. If power in and out can only be the lamp!

Does the lamp f48t10cw have to be the same or can you use a different lamp like f32t8cw?

no, you can not substitute a T8 for a T10. Don't do it. You can change the color such as a ww for warm white, cw for cool white, and so on but that's it.

Indicator lights out

Check the power to the lights and replace if burned.
You also can check the door switch.
It may be stuck or broken.
