52'' Sony Bravia will not turn on

Fully powers off or stays on with Sound on?
Sounds like something wrong in your power supply.
I believe Sony has a 2 year warranty?
Is it older than 2 years?

Sony Bravia KDL series 52"

Check the fuses on the power board. there is one fuse on primary side and one on secondary side.
Take of back panel and follow plug into the tv.where it ends is the power board.always use caution.the capacitors in there hold high voltage even after unplugged for a couple of days.Discharge capacitors before servicing the board.

I do not think that cause by power surge, and it is on manufactory warranty, you better to call Sony.

My sony won't turn on after an electrical storm. outlet fine surge protector fine. Is there a reset button somewhere on the tv or is it possibly compromised by the electric storm

you'll probably find the power supply of the lcd is broken. try getting a new powersupply and try to work it then

Hi,
Its fixable problem like power supply board replacement will solve the problem.
Unplug tv from wall socket for couple of minutes, replug back in and turn it On.
If problem still exist then most likely power supply got fired and will be replaced, local tv repair shop will help you to replace power supply board.
